"Great room with walk in en suite. Friendly staff who were very accommodating. Delicious breakfast."

"What a lovely welcoming Hotel. Loved the ambience from the moment we walked in the door. Reception staff excellent. Our room was also very nice. We had dinner and this was so good. 5 stars all round."

"Absolutely fantastic service, staff were were superb. Will definitely return and recommend to all family and friends."

"Awesome owner and such a nice place to stay with a baby ☺️"

"We always have a great time at the Hopetoun. The rooms are spacious, cosy and clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is always amazing! We look forward to going back - highly recommended!"

"Great location. Beautiful house and accommodation. Really friendly owners. Great breakfast."

"Our stay included a basic, but good sized room, at a good rate, with a beautiful view over the river. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean and the bed comfortable enough. Our main complaint was the standard of the food in the restaurant. Waiting, and bar staff, looked universally miserable and service was extremely slow, even when there were few occupied tables (with the notable exception of the woman at breakfast, who was friendly and efficient). "Great location but very noisy in our front room at the weekend with revellers coming out other pubs. Staff all really helpful and can't do enough for you. Plenty choice at breakfast"

"I really enjoyed my stay, and certainly hope to get back to this hotel very soon. The quality of food at breakfast was incredible."

"Very nice stay as we have had previously and we will be going back"

Only minor inconvenience was the shower: needing to be handheld is not a ‘luxury’ feature as listed - if they could be properly wall...

"A truly enjoyable and amazing time. It made for the perfect and serene environment to rest after a day of sightseeing and touring the City of Edinburgh."

"The room was clean but the curtains and chair were thread bare. The staff were excellent. The breakfast was OK during the week but excellent at the weekend. The bar and staff were really good but quite expensive. Overall it was a nice stay but in my opinion the hotel needs a over hall."

"A little hidden gem. Spotless rooms and bathrooms with a well stocked continental breakfast provided. Hosts were very friendly, and very accommodating. We both really enjoyed our stay."
