"I am going to leave an honest as possible review. Firstly, the staff at the hotel were friendly, and welcoming - especially the front of house. They welcomed me and my two kids with warmth and friendliness. They also did their absolute best to give us a high floor (as I wanted to impress the kids). The room itself was nice, with great views. However, for the price of this hotel, there are a few niggly complaints. 1. The AirCon didn't work. The lowest temperature they allow is 19 c. That's for sustainability, I understand, but it's useless when it doesn't work. The glass fronted building also allows a great deal of heat in, which can only be countered by closing the blackout curtains. This is fine, but if you want to be able to appreciate the view in the day time, you'll need A/C to be working. 2. The breakfast staff seemed to just be two people. This meant that they were absolutely run off their feet trying to fix things like the coffee machine, pancake maker (didn't work), refill food, help guests, clean tables, etc. Perhaps they were just missing a staff member (or two?) but, in reality, a hotel like this should be able to compensate for a person down by bringing in staff from elsewhere to support. 3. This might seem a small first world thing but the TVs in the room are not smart, as advertised - the casting doesn't work. Kids disappointed as they don't get TV in hotels much. "It was okay. I didnt expect much and we only stayed for 1night but wont stay again. Room was so tiny and claustrophobic. Tea was in a diff room downstairs, very small shower cubicle. But it is budget"

"Good review won’t be helpful so I will only include negative feedback here, and my review is 3 stars. 1. The breakfast was shocking. I had my breakfast on 4th May which was a bank holiday and I believe bank holiday this hotel should have more customers than usually so the kitchen should prepare more food than usual as well. The breakfast starts on 7am and finish at 10:30 am on bank holiday. I arrived downstairs at 9:40am and there was a queue and the hot breakfast only has egg left, no tomato no mushrooms no sausage no hash brown no bacon… everyone was waiting for the food and stuck in front of kitchen. The toster was burnt and smelled really bad… breakfast I will say it’s very poor due to service and food. It is not as good as Premier In or Traveloge. This is a IHG hotel… 2. The room I had there is no cooling AC, only heating. There was an air conditioner but when I chose to adjust it to cooling mode, it showed me the penal locked and I cannot change it so the room was boiling hot. 3. The toilet 🚽, there was one yellow drop on the surface. I’m not sure if this was the cleaning liquid or someone’s wee. I cleaned it with sanitizer and use hot water to wash it. 4. Right, I will say something positive below: - the location is very good, close to city centre, right behind the police station and in front of cathedral. Walking distance is really nice to everywhere. - the bathroom, except the toilet everything else was spotless and marvelous."

"We had a lovely stay and overall a fantastic experience. The hotel was clean, well presented, and had a really welcoming atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a great variety of fresh options to suit everyone – a perfect start to the day. The staff throughout the hotel were warm, friendly, and always happy to help, which really made a difference. The location is excellent, right by the NEC and very close to Birmingham Airport. We visited the Gladiator Experience at the NEC, which was so easy to reach on foot in under 10 minutes – super convenient. A special mention to Karisma, who served us food and drinks at the bar on Friday evening, even towards the end of her shift. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Her positive attitude and excellent service really stood out. Thank you to the whole team – we would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to others!"

"Obviously perfect for airport. What often annoys me is the tea making facilities in room. If I book a room for three people, I expect three cups for making drinks. So often you just get the normal two cups. This is normally a double room with an additional bed made up on the pull-out sofa. There's no excuse really."
