"This is the perfect place to unwind in style and enjoy a bit of luxury on a budget. We loved the hot tub, gorgeous gardens, tennis court, and having fine dining on site was an unexpected bonus. Truly, you have to eat at the restaurant, it is next level. The staff are super friendly and even let my husband into our room hours before check in so he could work while he waited for me to arrive. We will be back!"

"The rooms has terrible air flow and ventilation and the aircon does not cool down below 20c. My wife and child were sweating and we had to talk sternly with hotel staff to get a small table fan which didn't help. Anyone who is a bit claustrophobic or expecting nice airflow and a cold room will be disappointed. Eventually we had to open our courtyard door to cope up. Paying 500+ dollars for a single night and having such a poor experience is not right. The manager and staff were polite though and...

"Nice location with great views from the rooms. The rooms however do need a modernization (the bathrooms in particular) and the floors were a bit smeary with residue of cleanser. Be aware that the road leading there has many pot-holes (a warning sign would be helpful, especially when arriving in the dark) and while that may not be in the purview of the hotel, those on the driveway and parking area should at least be fixed by the hotel."

Breakfast was fresh with eggs cooked to order but overall choice was limited. Only downside was that, despite being told how to access the interior swimming pool, it was closed when we tried to use it. "

The concierge was friendly, the room clean and spacious and the location was only a few minutes drive from the centre of Katoomba and other tourist attractions. The decor was dated and was on a noisy road (fine if the windows are closed as they are double glazed). "Visiting the Carrington was a trip back in time. A beautifully appointed hotel, attentive service, and scrupulously clean. We had a non ensuite room but the individual locked “bathrooms” in a shared facility were fine. The hotel bar and lounge area was a great place to relax after a day of local exploration. We will be back."
