"Staff and owner are AMAZING! Best customer service anywhere on our 18 day trip. Breakfast was FANTASTIC, location looks odd but is in a perfect spot just off the square. Police presence 24 hrs a day every 2 blocks. Very safe. Exchanged dollars for Reals at the hotel and they gave a very fair rate. Love this place! "

Don’t believe the pictures; the air conditioned comfort penthouse advertised does not have windows in the walls of the apartment, and was barely ‘indoors’ much less ‘air conditioned’. "The place is good for the price. It felt clean, and the shower and toilet worked fine. The beds were quite hard and duvet only a blanket, but all in good condition. Although it’s only a 4 minute walk from Pelourinho, we were told by locals and police that we had to take Uber home as soon as it got dark! In other words, the area is not safe at night. "
