Wonderful family house in historic Cornish village by Port Isaac, Padstow & Rock
Tynedale, is a warm, dog friendly, Cornish traditional family house sleeping seven people in four bedrooms with two bathrooms and a downstairs loo. It is centrally located in the friendly North Cornwall village of St Teath. It is the perfect base for explorin. Ten minutes from the glorious North Cornwall coast for walking, surfing and beaches. It is close to the charming seaside towns of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame), Rock, the foodies’ delight of Padstow, Polzeath and Widemouth Bay for surfing, the wild scenery of Arthurian Tintagel, the South West Coast Path, Poldark country, Rosamund Pilcher trail and many other picturesque and historic sites. The area abounds with good restaurants and friendly pubs, it is within easy reach of the Eden Project (45 minutes) and many of the other attractions, both natural and man-made that Cornwall has to offer. The bustling small town of Wadebridge is twenty minutes away, with its three supermarkets, interesting independent shops and the picturesque Camel Trail for cycling. Seaview is a local farm shop a mile away with cafe/bar and selling local farm produce and other delights, plus the best breakfasts. There are also small supermarkets in Delabole and Camelford for groceries and logs etc. The cottage has two cosy living rooms, each with a log burner. The four comfortable bedrooms and spacious and well-equipped kitchen/ diner make it ideal for multi generation living or just chilling out. There’s high speed fibre broadband and a smart TV inside, and outside, a secluded patio with BBQ for eating and entertaining plus a charming low-mainenance front garden from which to sit and watch the world go by.
St.Teath is a thriving village year round which welcomes its visitors. With an historic 14th century church at its centre and a dog/family friendly “proper” pub which shows sport, has two full sizes pool tables and serves excellent good value meals, all within 200 yards of the front door. The quaint village cafe also serves delicious breakfasts, home cooked lunches and teas. The area is a pooch’s paradise and we welcome up to two well behaved dogs. There is a footpath running alongside the house and over styles to fields for dog walking (please be aware of livestock).

Cottage was nice and tidy.. Comfy beds great location for travelling the surrounding areas..
The White hart pub within walking distance and food was lovely
Good sized cottage, very well equipped and conveniently located for local attractions. Local pub close by, and fine for a basic meal and a drink. Comfortable beds, large kitchen, patio dog secure garden.
Really helpful host and housekeeper, the rooms are lovely and light and feel very spacious. Great location being on a bus route and having a pub virtually next door. Would definitely stay again
Great cottage for our family break. Loads of room, very comfortable, equipped with everything you need. Lovely pub and cafe on the doorstep - such a shame the shop isn't open any more Perfect location to explore Cornwallis Cornwall
Owners were so welcoming and the community in the village were so kind and helpful. We loved the cottage and had some amazing days out at local beaches.
Local cafe and pub are amazing. They serve fantastic food and all at very reasonable prices. Everyone was so friendly.
We had a lovely holiday. We loved the house and the log burners. The two reception rooms were great with the wide variety of ages we had. Perfect enclosed courtyard for dogs. Great communication from start to finish from Christine. Good amenities just a few doors down - cafe, pub with food, butchers (although this was closed during our stay). Thank you for a great holiday!
Nice quaint cottage, fully equipt kitchen, comfortable lounges. Ideal for 5 adults and two dogs.
Quiet location with an excellent pub, serving lovely value for food and a good pint.
Overall well worth the 8 hr journey down and 10hr return to Essex.
Was well located near beaches. Saint teath was so pretty with all the Christmas lights. Cottage so well equipped and cozy with the wood burners! Lovely comfy beds too! Thank you
Enjoyed everything about the house & its surroundings & highly recommend eating at the White Hart Pub next door.
The only thing about the property that I would change are the bed mattress they where without a shadow of doubt the most uncomfortable things to sleep on but I understand that to others they may be perfect but in these days of memory foam this is the way too go to replace old spring mattress.
The property was easily large enough for three adults and 3 children. A great location for lots of north Cornwall attractions and beaches. The pub is 50m away and has a good playground and serves good food.
My only real criticisms of the property were the kitchen was missing a couple of family sized dishes and the house was in need of a little tlc. However these were minor criticisms.
Nice property well suited for our needs, lots of space to spread out.
Did short trips from the property which were great, Bodmin, Port Isaac, Padstow etc.
Two small items, need a few more kitchen towels, and new pillows they were awful.
Parking in front of the house you take your life in your hands but always found a place around the clock tower 2 minutes walk away.
All in all a very enjoyable stay, thanks.
The photos certainly don’t do this place justice. The cottage was charming and more than adequate for 6 adults. The biscuits and flowers left on the table were a lovely touch after a long journey. We will definitely be back again. The village is quaint and very peaceful and we were fortunate enough to be visiting in Carnival week too. After holidaying in Cornwall for over 50 years I can truly say this is one of the nicest places we have stayed in, such a cosy, homely feel. Well worth a visit!!
Loved my stay with my dog Ralph who loved the beaches. Had a slight issue with connecting to the internet when I arrived but that was sorted and Christine was on the phone to assist as well. The downside is that parking isn't great and I didn't fancy leaving my car in the road outside the house but I always managed to get a space in the square opposite the pub. The pub was only 50 or so metres from the house so no problem with the worry about drinking and driving and the food was very good.

Very cozy house!
The house was super cozy and, apart from the weather, we had a very nice holiday. Above all, the kitchen was very good, except for the blunt knives that just weren't fun to cook with. Unfortunately, the digital equipment (fast internet and Amazon Prime) was far too good... Our children could hardly get out of the house. The house is located in the middle of a little town, which has the disadvantage that you really have to do everything by car. Due to the narrow local streets, this usually took a relatively long time. Shopping in Wadebridge (Tesco) quickly took two hours and more.
If you like hiking and aren't afraid to use the car more often, this is a perfect house in a quiet, tourist-free little town. However, apart from a pub, a cafe and a post office, there is no infrastructure for daily needs. To do this you then have to drive to Wadebridge (approx. 15 minutes). Apart from a very small courtyard, there is no garden, which didn't bother us much given the bad weather.
Overall, a very individual, beautiful house in which we felt comfortable.
Great hosts, lovely house with lots of character and a brilliant location for our trip. The kitchen was also really well equipped and the fast internet connection was really handy. Many thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous property - spacious and well looked after. Beds super comfortable and lots of living space, also steps from the local pub which is a definite plus. We loved our time here.
We had a wonderful stay, the cottage was lovely and very spacious. Very well equipped especially the kitchen.
Quite creaky but otherwise very peaceful and St Teath is a lovely village.
