Most all california motels are more expensive. Recommend this for a budget minded solo traveler. Just be safe with the neighborhood. It is a bad neighborhood full of drugs and homelessness. "

We inconvenienced the owner by not knowing our check out date, which she was gracious about. Then my husband lost his wallet, and Beth looked for us. Great host!"

"Situated in an area where one would expect to pay more, within walking distance to Chinatown and Union Square. A few, minor improvements are needed: poor heating, blinds don’t block enough sunlight, sleeper sofa is extremely small, and both the sofa and bed could be more comfortable. Biggest downfall are no hot water (tepid at best), loud outdoor traffic. On the plus side, management replies quickly and rooms are clean"

"After a grueling day of travel, we opened the door to this beautiful hideaway! There was gentle mood music playing that immediately soothed our stressed nerves, and a special treat left for us from the hosts. The bed is extremely comfy-it was tough getting up every morning, and the location was just what we were looking for to get to our destinations each day! "This was my first stay at the apartment (previously we had additional guests and stayed at the house on the property) and EVERYTHING was as meticulously considered, cleaned and detailed to ensure the owner's guests felt right at home. And while the location is perfectly situated to walking into downtown Larkspur - it is soo comfortable and inviting - you won't want to leave the comfort of the accommodations or the beauty of the grounds!"

The listing makes the rooms look clean, but they’re disgusting and ours had a window leading to a ledge right outside the window that anyone could have come onto and broken in. No hot water, even after running it for five minutes. No Wi-Fi. Rude manager."

"We love that the room was clean and surprisingly there was not a lot of noise so we were able to sleep deep. They gave us a key to enter the building which was helpful. It was convenient for us because we were able to walk to get breakfast at different places. There is no parking available but overall we love staying here. I love that there was free coffee."

"The instructions were to park in a special place designed for guests. A cart port. However as we pulled into the property, a lady had already parked there and plugged her car in and quickly ran into the house. The email told us to park in that place. We knocked in the door where the lady went but no response at all. Calling or contacting the host was a failure on multiple attempts. The sign on the door said to take our shoes off, but if you do, you will end up with pet hair on your socks or bare...

"The place was nice and clean. I was expecting my security deposit back and I did not receive it cause I was charged for some towels and bed sheet that was stained $225 dollars not fair! Even tho we fixed the broken handle on the stove and our door went bad since the fridge didn't keep our food cold enough. I did not want to complain cause I really they wasn't gonna play me with my deposit but that was very unfair all of that comes off in the wash I'm sure "
