"The place is run down. Hot tub wasnt working, was old, and never worked. Our room was not serviced daily. None of the TVs in the entire unit worked. There were no keys to our safe upon arrival. There was no hot water in some of our rooms for the entire trip, even when we reset the instant hot water tank and let the water run for 10 minutes. We paid for an early check-in, and they were not ready to host us. Do not let the affiliation with SoHo fool you. There are much better places to stay...

"We had a great time. The property has two residences. The chefs/cleaners are in a house at the back. They were really great. Especially great cooks! We provided the groceries and they cooked in the outside kitchen to perfection and cleaned after each meal. For us, it was all authentic Colombian food, which is what we wanted.The location is great. "The staff is amazing, the hotel is very aesthetic with plants everywhere and is maintained very clean. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the fresh juices and fruit in the morning are amazing. The location is very convenient as this property is walking distance to the beach, restaurants, grocery stores and only 10 minute drive from the old town. The rooftop pool is a great place to see the sunset as the view is amazing. The only feed back is that the pool is too warm and a bit small."

"The hotel was outstanding in every way—the food, the scenery, and the luxurious, yet understated design. I had been searching for a specific type of beach resort for a long time—one that was small, quiet, yet still maintained the family atmosphere—and the Sofitel Barú checked every single one of those boxes. Aside from the beach not being very long, meaning we could only take short walks along the water, there were always beach chairs available and there were also daily barbecues around lunch time, which were some of the many highlights for my son and me. The staff were all incredibly warm, and the hotel manager, Juan Luna, was also very helpful and was always there to ensure that we were enjoying our stay and that are accommodations were met. Overall, a wonderful stay filled with positive energy and good vibes, reflecting the beautiful spirit of Colombia that makes us excited for our next visit hopefully very soon!"

"My stay was amazing. Diana was a gracious host any problems we had she immediately solved them and if we had any questions or concerns, she took care of them immediately. She also recommended places to go and also arrange for our safe transportation. The other staff was also very gracious and helpful if we needed anything, they went above and beyond to help us. The only downside was the food. Not much seasonings. But overall, I would definitely recommend and come back to stay."
