The facility was fantastic, and the staff were even better. It was a very nice surprise. The location is perfect for anyone that wants to be just outside the traffic of Auckland, with a head-start to Hobbiton. The staff were exceedingly kind and helpful. They made it very simple to arrive in the middle of the night. They also went well out of their way to help us out of a jam that could have ruined our trip.

Starland looks and probably is a remodeled Condo/AirBnb type development, so it has all the usual pluses and minuses that come with it. In other words, expect more of a rental unit type situation than either a hotel or motel. That being said, the remodeling was nicely done, the facilities are clean and secure, the beds are comfortable and best of all it is within a stone's throw of the Sylvia Park Mall.
