A wonderful Inn in Boston

Our day and a half in Boston was pretty disappointing as parking and traffic downtown were very frustratining. The only redeeming feature of our trip was the 2 nights at the Davis Inn. We found it to be a peaceful, comfortable, place in the midst of Cambridge/Sommerville area. We would recommend it to anyone.

Pleasant/convenient stay in Boston…

Well appointed Inn in a 150 year old Victorian. Great location only 2 blocks from David Square & The Red Line. Our room was large and comfortable, facing the street. Breakfast was provided every morning self serve with fresh muffins. Our only complaint was noisy guests checking in at 2am & schlepping luggage up wooden stairs to 3rd floor room above us. This cannot be fixed in a Victorian without adding carpet runners to the stairs. Guess that inconvenience was a small price to pay for a reasonably priced, comfortable 3-night stay in one of Boston’s ‘grand old ladies’.

Ok except one pretty big thing

Room was comfy, breakfast was good, innkeeper was not as friendly as we are used to when staying at a B&B. But the problem was the very strong smell of animal urine that permeated the downstairs and the 2nd floor where our room was. It wasn't subtle - it was bad.

The Davis Inn was lovely to stay at. Close by a lot of coffee cafes, bars , and a grocery store. The house self is in well taken care of beautiful inside and out. Ron one of the owners was very helpful and communicated well and was very helpful. There is breakfast options with Eggs, Yogurt and Bannas and cereal and etc. Perfect location for a New England get away . There is TV with Roku in it so can watch Netflix and Hulu. The Davis Station for the Train is right around the corner a five minute walk at most. Would definitely stay again when visiting Boston Metro

Parfait. L'endroit un un bed and breakfast charmant et très très bien entretenu. Hote un peu froide, mais Petit dejeuner compris et convivial, les occupants sont invités à écrire leurs prénoms sur un tableau ce qui permet d'engager la conversation . Rue parfaitement calme, mais quartier animé et hyper pratique pour visiter Boston et les environs (metro à 5 minutes à pied). Parking gratuit a l'arrière. Bref, parfait.

Wonderful stay

I had a lovely time at the Davies Inn. It was really quaint and comfortable. My room was nice , the bed was really comfortable. I really enjoyed the daily coffee French press at breakfast . Definitely recommend if you look for something quiet

The hotel is a charming B&B in a safe and quiet area, with convenient access to the Red Line MBTA station for easy access to Cambridge and Boston. There are also amenties in Davis Square itself including bars, restaurants and the Somerville Theater. The room was very clean and well maintained. The communal area is very quaint with a large dining table for enjoying breakfast with the other guests, and a selection of books, games and DVDs for borrowing during the stay. Breakfast includes bread with toaster, peanut butter, honey and coffee laid out as well as eggs, fruit, jams and yoghurts in the fridge, and homemade bakes on the table. A cat lives in the hotel but doesn't go into the rooms. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay. However, be advised that the building isn't manned by staff 24/7. Instead, entry is secured via a key code on the outside doors as well as your room itself. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with my booking outside of my control and I was unable to gain access to the property when I arrived. After contacting Expedia to explain my situation they were able to inform one of the staff who rectified the issue and let me in. I was fortunate that this happened mid-afternoon and was easily resolved but had I arrived late at night this may have been a problem. For this reason, I would recommend contacting the hotel before arriving to make sure your booking and entry is confirmed, particularly if like me you are arriving from outside the US or Canada.

Excellent location, close to Davis Square and Tufts which was our reason for visiting. Short walk to the T to get into downtown Boston and many fine restaurants nearby. House was in great shape and there was a pleasant sitting room which even had a cat to pet.

It is clean and quiet, but not convenient. If you have lot of luggage it will be hard because there's no elevator for 2nd and 3rd floor room. If you stay more than one or two days， there is no laundry facility either. The 3rd floor room is essentially attic room

The house was nice. But our room had a musty smell to it. Not sure if it was from the a/c or the carpeting in the room. But other than that we found the bed nice and the location was good for getting into downtown.
