"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"Definitely recommend this B&B, from the warm and friendly welcome, to the beautifully clean accommodation, and lovely fresh breakfast. To the great location for exploring the castle and surrounding area. "

"Nice little B&B a few yards from the course at Clyne. Small but well appointed twin rooms and a delicious full breakfast served in the clubhouse.
Staff and members very hospitable and all four in our party very pleased and would happily stay again. "

"The hotel is an amazing old building and the staff are very very best we have ever had in many years of traveling the world! Truly helpful, friendly and attentive.
The breakfast was fairly standard breakfast buffet but always hot and refilled regularly.
The hotel is old, so if your a looking for a super modern hotel with clean lines, no character etc then this isn’t the hotel for you.
Yes, it needs upgrading for sure but the beds were comfy, the rooms were clean despite stains etc on carpets that no one is going to get out!
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay"
"Modern hotel with lovely spa. Only criticism is that there was a really loud musical performance going on in one of the function rooms (singer and guitar) which filtered through to the restaurant mixing with the background music. Easily solved if doors were closed."
"Staff were friendly and main area is maintained. I was put in a room with a new mattress they were trialling and had to ask to move rooms as it was like laying on a wooden board. Staff moved me straight away with no issues, although the old mattresses in the new room wasn't much better.
Room was clean enough and ok for a 1 night stay.
Main issue was the loud music keeping me awake till 3am, the windows did nothing to keep the noise out and sounded like I was in the club myself. It was a Mon/Tues night stay so I did not expect the noise. Wouldn't recommend or stay here again."
"Very good hotel with excellent amenities inc fab pool. The hotel is a little set back from city centre but that suited our needs . Staff excellent thanks c u again"
"The hotel was very clean and is the perfect location for the train station and city centre.
Only issue we had was that our air conditioning wasn't working in our room. However, the staff were super friendly and understanding about this."
"Beautiful large country house in spectacular surroundings with a fantastic welcome from the gentleman at reception who couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful! A brilliant start!
The room was cosy and had everything one would expect and the shower was great too! The decor was so smart and well-suited to the rest of the property. We were lucky enough to be situated in the coach house on the ground floor so we had some French doors on to a patio table and chairs which was great to relax on such a warm day. Awesome!
Unfortunately breakfast wasn’t great at all. We didn’t know where to go so we made fools of ourselves twice by going into the wrong area before eventually finding the breakfast room.
We weren’t directed at all and nothing was explained to us. We weren’t directed at all. The food was displayed in silver trays with lids and whilst the food looked appetising, the utensils were kept inside the containers so they were as hot as the food was. Annoying. We got our coffee, but no milk so we had to go to fetch the milk intended for the cereal servings. The fruit looked awful and it was only once we’d sat down that we noticed the bread display on the other side of the room which was very dry. We got some toast but had to ask for butter as none was anywhere else. The servers were great, but they were obviously very busy and they could benefit from some proper training in terms of how to lay the tables and then clear tables productively. Overall breakfast very poor."
