"Best hotel in Hexham. Hexham is a great base to explore Hadrians wall and the surroundings and the Beaumont is definitely the best place to stay, spacious rooms, excellent food in the restaurant, great bar, very popular locally so good buzz in the evenings and very attentive staff. "
"A very clean and comfortable place. The rooms were very nice and the beds quite comfortable. The bathrooms were up to date and there was plenty of hot water. The pub next door was very hand for a drink and breakfast in the morning. Very friendly staff. "

"The pool was gorgeous. It was a bit tricky downloading the app on the phone to open the door. The app would just shut down and it took at least ten tries. Staff was wonderful. Helpful and kind. Dinner was average. I ordered a cauliflower steak which was good, but a very high price for just a large piece of cauliflower. The map to walk around the grounds was confusing and I ended up on the golf course, which didn’t make some

"Our family of 8 stayed here for our Mum's 60th birthday and it was great. All of the rooms are a great size and with an ensuite, plus the sound insulation meant that there is peace and quiet, even for a busy family gathering!The communal areas are decorated in a cosy and comfortable way, with amazing views of the remote countryside (and fun to watch the chickens around the garden). Furthermore, the house is excellently equipped, with everything we could have needed for serving large family meals. Very clean and with little touches to make us feel welcome and at home.One small improvement would be to make check in and check out times slightly more relaxed, just so we could enjoy more of our weekend! However, it has to be said that Kevin and Leah were very communicative and cooperative with this.All in all, a highly recommended property!!!"
"We booked the cottage for a long weekend, whilst attending a national cycling event near Hexham. The cottage was perfect for our group of three adults, providing us with two double bedrooms, both with ensuite facilities. The cottage was clean, warm and well equipped for our stay and the location was fantastic for walks on Hadrians Wall and only a fifteen minute drive to Hexham. The owner was very accommodating to our needs and generously provided a welcome pack of essentials plus a homemade cake. The owner's website also had a lot of useful information. We would certainly recommend Shepherd's Retreat to anyone visiting the area."
