"No hot water for showers. Pots and pans were older than me. No extra trash bags. Nothing to use to bake with in oven. Ac was on a 1 hour timer I had to get up all the time in middle of night so my sleep was horrible. No barbecue when it was advertised. Towels were very stained. Bed sheets were old and ripped. Ended up leaving 4 days earlier due to these annoyances. Fridge was nice. Guitar was cool. "

"My wife and I were at the Lodge for eight (8) full days. We have extensive travel experiences throughout the world. We cannot say enough about our stay, without a doubt one of the best we have had across almost 30 years. Among so many world class amenities (food, service, knowledge of the area, our guides, etc.) , what stands out the most were the people. Every single staff member from our guides to the front desk,....it was just not the service you remember, but how they made us feel. We made friends with all of them. If you go there, you will never forget it."

"This was a terrific property. Luxury surf resort. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful rooms. A very short walk across the street to the beach. Fully equipped room with Wi-Fi, kitchen, tvs, laundry room, etc. Great outdoor terrace with chairs and large dining table to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our host Veronica helped us coordinate a very special clay/pottery making experience for our family. She also recommended a couple great local restaurants and markets. We would definitely book again if back in Pavones!"

"The hosts at the site were very helpful and wonderful once we found them. But finding them initially was very hard as the address is difficult to locate and our local taxi got lost. It would be far better if Expedia would send us a good contact # for the people who are actually running the place on the ground before we even came just as VRBO does. There should be more pictures of the outside of the rental as it was very deep in the jungle and very dark as there was no sunshine. There was very little electric lights at night so not possible to read. Other than that it was a great experience staying there as we met up with our son on his birthday at Lapa Rios. The ladies that hosted us were a A + team. Raana Azad"
