"It was our first time visiting Costa Rica. The stay at Lucky bug B&b was nothing short of awesome. It's run by Rob and Monica who were very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast is prepared by Monica herself, and she could be the best cook in town! The property itself is very serene, lots of birds chirping early in the morning. We truly enjoyed our stay in this little paradise. "

"The room was amazing! Beautifully arranged and all the amenities, the best was the porch overlooking the trees and the birds, breakfast was great. It’s pretty far from La Fortuna and most activities and wr didn’t rent a car. The host did drive us but we were limited in what we could do. "

His wife would come each morning and prepare us a breakfast fit for Kings and Queens.The house is amazing! It’s spacious, clean, fully equipped, and beautifully decorated!! And the views of the lake and volcano are to die for!!!The pool house is equipped with a small gym that our kids used each day and a hot tub that helped to soothe our bodies after our adventurous days. The kids were brave and swam in the chilly pool…brrrr!!We loved everything about our stay at the Red Sunset at Guanacaste "

"Cecelia was a very accommodating host. Even though we had a language barrier, we used translation apps. She gave us pointers about local attractions and food. The facility is exactly as advertised in the listing. Nice little cottage style rooms."

"The room was clean and spacious. The property is amazing with nature trails right outside your cabin and a beautiful garden with a talking parrot. The hotel/restaurant also has a few chickens and a turkey. The food at the restaurant was so authentic and some of the best food we ate in Costa Rica. I definitely recommend the tilapia. We ate at the restaurant for 3 of the 4 meals that we had when we were in the area because of how good and convenient it was. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive and authentic place to stay."

"My family talked about our wonderful stay here the entire trip. The grounds are incredible! I loved sitting in the rocking chair listening to the man-made waterfall, discovering the rock path with jaw dropping beauty at every turn and enjoying the refreshing pool. The hosts are amazing as well! They truly love showing the place. Breakfast was fantastic and they were so gracious to give us seconds on smoothies. If we are lucky enough to come back to Costa Rica, we know where to stay!"
