"So we had a terrible occurrence, Due to NO control, and natural flooding in fort lauderdale , all our fights were canceled and couldn't make the trip. We had their JACO tour agent ask if we can get credit for the night we lost if we can make it there and if we can get the difference back from the 12 people that were NOT able to attend . AND the owner SAID NO. We wish we could have seen the property but working with the owner wasnt helpful at all"

"The pictures do not do this property justice!. This property is more like a compound. Multiple villas and a huge dining room with enough seating for everyone. Lots of room, beautifully landscaped and private. Out family of 23 (ages 1-75) spent a week in this beautiful property. The pool was large and private and we were across the street from the beach. "WHATEVER YOU DO. DO NOT STAY HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE. THE FOOD IS OLD, STALE, HORRIBLE, I ASKED FOR CLEAN TOWELS AND THE OWNER AND I GOT INTO A SHOUTING MATCH. HE EVEN TOLD ME GO BACK TO AMERICA. WE CHECKED OUT AN ENTIRE DAY EARLIER AND WAS CHARGED A 25$ US CANCELLATION FEE. FOR WHAT??? Only God knows. STAY AWAY FROM THERE. ITS DESERTED, NOTHING TO DO AND NOT AS DESCRIBED AS IN THE PUCTURES ON THE WEBSITE."

"We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home in Palo Seco! If you’re wanting to experience authentic Costa Rica, this is the perfect destination. The house was beautiful and well equipped and we absolutely LOVED our on-site host, Lucy. She lives on the property and takes excellent care of guests. She cooked dinner for us two of the mornings we were there and it was so good! Our teenage girls kept saying how much they missed Lucy’s breakfast throughout the rest of our trip! The highlight of the stay was the beautiful beach steps from the house. The girls loved it and it was so nice to watch the sun rise and set right on the water. It was incredibly private too. Truly your own little slice of paradise. I would highly recommend staying here!"

"The hotel is locsated in a small peninsula called Palo Seco, 15' away from the town of Parrita. It is a resort with different individual cabins in the middle of a jungle and next to the sea. Our first night there there was a power outtage in the whole 'island' and there was no light or water in our cabin. The next day, when we came back from visiting Manuel Antonio, power was back but went again in the evening. We brought our own dinner at the restaurant that had a generator and by the time we were finished it came back. The rest of the days there were no other power outtages. Other than that, it is a lovely place. We saw monkeys and scarlet macaws in the surrondings. Our room was spacious. It had a/c and a fan. The mattresses were comfortable. It had a TV (just streaming though) and a a small fridge. The bathroom was modern and clean and had toiletries. The property had a large pool, shaped like a turtle, where we swam everyday of our stay. Breakfast consisted of bread, coffee, juices and eggs that they would cook for us (fried or scrambled). Because of the outtage, they even added a few slices of bacon to our breakfast. There are a few dogs running around the property which our 6 year old loved playing with, but the star is, no doubt, Pepa the raccoon. Our kid would ask everyday for it. One of our favourite hotels in our Tico trip."

"Great location and a very clean room. The staff, from check-in to check-out, were extremely courteous and helpful. Umbrellas were thoughtfully provided in convenient locations throughout the property, which was especially helpful during the sudden downpours we experienced on a couple of days. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The rooms were conveniently located, making it easy to get around either by walking or using the golf carts, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay."

"The Mariposa Hotel is one of my favorite hotels. Its proximity to the Central Valley and its beautiful ocean views make for a very pleasant stay. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good. Prices at the restaurant are similar to those at restaurants in Manuel Antonio. I will definitely return."

"The room we stayed in was a bit small, but made up for it with a beautiful balcony kitchenette. My children loved seeing animals everywhere, from coatis to iguanas to monkeys. Food prices at the hotel retauraunts were higher than anticipated however, and there weren't any grab and go options for drinks or snacks at reception."

"The hotel staff was great, they were very welcoming. The room I believe had the nicest balcony and an incredible view, we loved it. The toilets are amazing, they come with a bidet and the seats are warm. The beds were very comfortable and the only noise we heard were the ocean waves. The restaurant below is aesthetically pleasing, great service and the food was very very good. The pool was awesome. There’s also another restaurant above that’s a sushi bar. They gave us different choices for breakfast. We only had two minor incidents: the WiFi didn’t work on our room, hence we had no tv and the main door frame was falling apart. It has secure parking. Although it may not seem like it, it’s family friendly, we went with our 5 year old. We will definitely be coming back!"
