"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Ocracoke property. The home was clean, quiet, and nicely appointed, with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location was excellent—close to everything while still feeling peaceful and relaxing.The only drawback was the somewhat unusual floor plan. "The room was nice and cold when we got in (unheard of for a lot of places honestly), and the beds were incredibly comfortable- it was like waking my husband and son from the dead the next day. The curtain didn’t fully cover all the light from the window, but when we went to sleep the world around us disappeared The bedding was stained, there was a lot of varied damage in the room (I’ve tried to be accountable for existing conditions at different places before) I called and left voicemails 3 times over time after check in for assistance (traveling with a child changes your tolerance level), never got a response But breakfast and checkout service (different person), were amazing If it was husband and I on a one night 5 star rating- anything else 4 star but mostly because the ac and mattress are heaven adjacent"

"Great place to stay. It still smells brand new. The rooms were very nice with a huge walk-in shower. They have a great breakfast. There is a small dining area next to the indoor bar as well as outdoor seating facing the pool and the marina. The evening that we arrived, there was some music going on (dj) and people were playing games there. Seemed like fun. We ate there the first evening, and the food was ok. Other than that we had a great stay and would return."

"This was a very good place to stay...we had a 2BR/2BA on the third floor which was great to be high where the breeze was cooler than below! Nice to have table outside if you wanted to sit out. Three TVs so accommodated us all nicely. Nice towels, soaps & lotions. An easy walk to the beach with access to outdoor showers. Multiple pools. A few minor things I'd wish were different: the elevator access and elevators were stifling hot. Small wall Acs are ancient and while on 24/7 did nothing to cool the space. Master bath had the light and vent on one switch and this can be disturbing at night or other times. NO bar in the shower! Ice took a long time to make and I'd advise someone turn it on BEFORE a check-in. VERY challenging coffeemaker! You are expected to clean-up before leaving including taking the trash out. And finally, we left behind some books and while there was a great app ("I Left My Stuff") to manage the return, the staff communications were muddled and contradictory."

The Silver Lake Hotel at Ocracoke

"The hotel was recently renovated. and the room was beautiful and well-designed. My only complaint is that it is located across the street from a bar, so there was noise well into the evening. We also had noisy neighbors who had a screaming child, loud parents and a yapping dog next door with the latter supposedly against hotel policy. The overall experience was good, however, and I expect management will be better at addressing such matters once they find their footing."
