My view of the Sierra Nevada Mt range from the cafe at David Walleys Hot Springs Resort.
Whether it's fine dining in the main restaurant or breakfast at the cafe, the food has been superb.
And of course the views are beautiful. You can stay at the resort or just stop in for a dip in the hot springs. And then take the mile or so stroll to the historic town of Genoa NV.
Roughly 45 minutes over the hill from South Lake Tahoe or an hour from Reno.

"We had a great stay for an anniversary trip to Lake Tahoe. We stayed 20+ years ago when it was the Fantasy Inn so booked it as a sort of nostalgic nod. Super cute property with commentary bikes, staff was great and the room was clean and very large. We really enjoyed the fireplace and extra large spa tub. The location is great as well. "
