"The Hotel was in an excellent location for either walking or driving to explore. Breakfast was delicious and extensive, the room was very comfortable with a sea view, and there are multiple restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were able to check in several hours early. I would highly recommend the Hotel Al Madurig to anyone wishing to stay in the charming town of Castellammare del Golfo."

"The musty smell in this lower room off the back of the house was overwhelmingly bad. Nice owners, beautiful setting if weather is good enough to sit on the patio, but in cold and windy February we were stuck indoors. The musty/dank/moldy smell was pretty overwhelming. We imagine the place had not been aired for quite a while. We feel this issue needs to be addressed. We left windows open during the day so that eventually the awful smell was somewhat abated."

"The hotel and rooms are very dated. The furniture in room is old and scratched. The host did not provide any instructions to access the hotel prior to arrival. There was no AC working ( a plug-in was given for mosquitoes), no fridge, no water, Tea or coffee in the room. The tv was small and outdated. The room was poorly decorated. There were only 2 pillows for the bed. No other pillow in the room. The breakfast was an additional 10 euros per guest. The parking another 8 euros- the stay was very overpriced for what was offered. "
