Although his bakery stand is new, Daniel Frederick still employs traditional techniques in crafting his delicious cassava bread. Fresh ground manioc is mixed with coconut, sugar and water to form a dense, flat bread similar to a thick pancake. The coconut and sugar add a touch of sweetness that makes this bread addictive.

The bakery is over in the Kalinago Territory on the east coast, so it's a bit of a trip if you're staying in Roseau. But if you're visiting the Kalinago Village it's worth a stop, and you can also hit it up on your way to/from the airport. I'm not sure that I pinned it just right, but any of the locals could quickly point it out.

The minus is that it is far enough out of town and the Roseau valley that a car is required. The host communicated well and even found us a rental car before we arrived. His brother picked us up at the ferry dock and escorted us to the apartment. I would recommend this location. "

"The property is nestled away on the country side of the island. We stayed in the honeymoon suite only steps away from the ocean . The pool is made of stones and is refreshing , especially with a cocktail. We scheduled a couples massage with hot rocks and let the stress of the World melt away . What a lovely retreat with Nature ! We will be back soon!"
