"Hotel staff members were professional yet friendly and eager to ensure we had a great experience. We were impressed with everything from the very comfortable mattress on our bed to truly excellent dinners in The Library restaurant and lounge. They warned us that the rooms sometimes may not be super quiet due to the hotel's downtown location and the rooms' proximity to a pub inside the hotel. They were even thoughtful enough to provide packaged ear plugs in one of the nightstands but we didn't notice noise to be a problem at all. In fact, we thought our room was surprisingly quiet for such an old albeit remodeled hotel. We also loved all of the historical photos on the walls throughout the hotel, showing pride in the establishment's and Nelson area's past."

"Great front staff member at check in. Quick service to check in. Easy parking. Room overlooks lake and walking paths. Beautiful! Rooms are spacious, great beds, shower has good pressure. Only con is homelessness around area but never bothered us. Be aware the train comes literally behind the hotel twice daily with no schedule! We were ok for our stay but staff mentioned it is very loud!! Ear plugs provided lol!"
