"I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel earned one.
There are numerous visible maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout the property: stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, furniture with missing handles, and a bathtub that barely drained. The overall condition of the hotel suggests a lack of upkeep and attention to detail.
However, the biggest problem cannot be captured in photographs: the smell. I work in crime scene processing and am unfortunately very familiar with the odor of decomposition. The smell in parts of this hotel was unmistakable. It was so strong that my husband was literally gagging when walking through the hallway. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and suggested that management investigate rooms displaying “Do Not Disturb” signs for extended periods, as well as crawl spaces, utility areas, and HVAC vents for possible dead animals. To our knowledge, nothing was done.
The situation was serious enough that we witnessed other guests checking out early and requesting refunds. To make matters worse, our room was not cleaned at all during a three-day stay despite being occupied the entire time.
This was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we have had. Between the condition of the property, the lack of housekeeping, and management’s apparent unwillingness to address a potentially serious odor issue, we will never stay here again."
