"This is a very old hotel, in fact it is the second oldest in the country. In spite of that it has been very well maintained and the modernization necessities have been done with respect for its history. Our room, an Executive King Suite was spacious and furnished with a blend of antiques (sitting room) and a very new and comfortable bed (bed room). Located in the heart of downtown Cedar Falls, we were able to walk to restaurants, shops, and museums. All 4 of the staff members were met were friendly, courteous, and professional. The charming bar offered crafted cocktails and we used our VIP perk happily. Keep in mind this hotel is 170 years old and has a few creaks and cracks, none of which diminish the charm and comfort."

"Nice, clean, quiet hotel. Friendly staff. Easy free parking. Conveniently located off a main road. Breakfast available in the morning. Okay choices. Close to the University of Northern Iowa. My go to choice when staying in Cedar Falls. "

"It is what is advertised, and that deserves a good rating. The place is very clean and well maintained. I didn't come for frills or a pool, just a clean room for a night."

"The outdoor seating area was marvelous. They were hosting 2-3 large events, the parking lots were overflowing in front but there was disabled parking close enough at a back door. Despite the large parties it was quiet and nice. The parties were held on the opposite side of the hotel. I was impressed. "
