"I stayed at the keeper's house on Charity Island in mid-August with my parents, daughter, and nieces (ages 8-10). It's such a unique stay and very peaceful. The house is spacious and fairly well stocked, though we spent most of the time outside. There are two beach areas- one rocky and one sandy- and the water is shallow (<4 ft) quite a ways out, which was perfect for the kids. "The stay was nice. The grounds were not kept up and a lot of over grown weeds. Hotels.com stated that the pool, hot tub and resturant were closed. The only thing closed was the resturant. It's an older hotel, but it was clean and kept up."
