"Was in town for family wedding. Place is clean, beautiful views and nice open space. Owners are very responsive and shared many ideas for activities in the area. "

"Very nice rooms appear to be recently renovated. Clean and comfortable. We went to look at possibly moving to the area but changed our minds because of the lack of things to do. Most of the bars and restaurants are closed during the week and many places are closed. We wanted to get a drink and something to eat and couldn’t find a place within 40+ miles on a Wednesday afternoon. Sorry Crisfield you’re just not for us. "

"We had such a fantastic time our week here. Always looking for privacy and this place delivers! Views from every window, which are huge windows. Im a sucker for a screenporch and this one had TWO! Plenty of room to spread out within the house and lots of places outdoors to explore. We decided this should our retirement home. Growing up on the eastern shore myself, this place had the perfect balance of seclusion, yet not too far away from crisfield whatsoever. So much character in this house. Thank you and hope to return (or buy) haha"

"Smith Island was on our bucket list of visits, and for spring break we finally went. Castaway Cottage is great!!!! It is the perfect place to stay, and Smith Island is a great way to get away from work and school and the buzz of life on the mainland, which was our whole point of the trip. We totally recommend this house, it is adorable, it has everything you need, and we took our dog and it is SOOOO pet friendly! Oh my gosh, we didn't want to leave! We are absolutely planning a summer trip and staying at Castaway Cottage. Book Island Belle ferry, the Captain is the best and he is FAST, he gets you there and back way faster than the other ferry and he is awesome! Totally recommend! "

"This was our first time renting this property and will probably be a yearly stay from here on out. It was a great vacation. We appreciated all the little things as well such as, 3-in-1body was for men and women, kitchen supplies like zip lock bags, firewood and propane for the grill. There are a lot more things but that is just some to mention. Our pups really enjoyed the stay as well. "
