"My husband and two children ages 9 and 12 had a wonderful time! They really enjoyed the short walk to the ocean and swimming in the pool. The rooftop has a nice breeze at night and my husband enjoyed watching a movie up there on his laptop. It was the perfect place for us to take day trips. We made it to the Bio Reserve in Celestun and saw flamingos. All in all a wonderful 4 nights! We hope to return!"

"With 5 bedrooms and 5 baths the house handled 11 people beautifully. Although the houses on the block are close together, the outside area was secluded and resort-like. The kitchen and patio were well appointed plenty of furniture, cookware and dinnerware - but there is no dishwasher. The description says the courtyard can accommodate 2 cars inside the gate but we were able to easily park 3. Be sure to read the "House Book" for tips and the house manager was very accommodating of our questions. We made a big Costco run but also enjoyed the restaurants and marina in Chuburná with an Ojo de Aqua boat/kayak/mangroves trip to the west of Chuburná. It's a low-key beach town and free of tourists. We also spent a day in Mérida and then in Progreso which were entertaining and took a day trip with a driver and guide to Chechen Itza. "

"The house was a perfect beach house and the backyard and pool were amazing. Mike who helps take care of the house was really helpful during our stay and we found the house to be very comfortable. The area is very safe and peaceful. The beach that is a short walking distance is swimmable but a bit eroded (like most of the coastline). But the beach about 10 minutes drive (past Chuburná) was truly awesome with turquoise clear water, a large expanse of white sand, shallow enough for kids to play safely, and not overrun with other people. "

"Our trip could not have been better due to the beautiful house and the nicest owners. The home is perfectly located in a quiet area, yet so close to everything you could need. Walking out of your door onto the sand every morning, seeing the turquoise water, is like living in a dream. We spent so many days just lying on the beach, or under the shaded area on lounge chairs, and wading into the water whenever we needed to cool off. Having the pool was also great, since we could just stare out at the ocean while relaxing in the water. The beach was never crowded. Some days we saw 15-20 people TOTAL, some days we saw NONE! It felt really private and so relaxing. Not overrun at all. I cannot say enough nice things about the owners, Lizette and Gino. They are so kind, very responsive about recommendations, and they truly want to help you have an amazing trip. They love the area, and they love sharing it. The nearby restaurants were great, everything from casual breakfast places, to very high end cuisine, and everything in between. We could easily buy fresh fruit, basic groceries, or stop by the 24-hour pharmacy for any needs. The area is very convenient for everything. We ventured to Progresso for meals a few times, which was very fun, and then we were happy to be back in our sweet quiet spot in Chilem. Can't recommend this home enough! We can't wait to go back. "

"This could actually be a lovely home, but at the price point we expected a much nicer rental. We only stayed 2 days out of 14. 5 of those days were because the weather was not good so we left the beach, but we elected not to return for other reasons. The major issues include poor mattresses, pillows, linens and lighting. The sliding doors and screens barely functioned, the burners on the stove didn't all work, and the espresso maker wasn't fully functional. The kitchen tools were basic. There were not enough lamps and the bulbs that were there were those awful "daylight" bulbs. Really horrible lighting. Regarding the surroundings, this must have been off-season, because there was no one around, which was eerie. Many of the homes in the neighborhood appear abandoned or completely shut down for the season, which wasn't a good vibe for a vacation. The beach isn't actually private, which is important to know. There is only a dining table outside downstairs. There are also no decent restaurants unless you drive at least 20 minutes. We were hoping for some charming cafe's etc, but the vibe is more dive-bar. I take responsibility for not better understanding the location and neighborhood, but after having rented beach locations at many locations in Mexico, this was just nothing compared to my prior experiences, and yet the price point was comparable. The property manager was prompt and communicative, but we just couldn't waste our vacation in this uncomfortable space."

"My husband and I and our 2 teens 18 & 16 stayed here for 10 nights. We had a wonderful relaxing time. We definitely recommend this place. Costco is 35 minutes away and so many other store so close to get all you need. "
