The hotel was very close to Indiana Dunes State Park and the Visitor Center. It is close to stores and fast food restaurants. Great historic downtown area. Gary, IN and Michigan City, IN are close by.

There are a few shops downtown, a few dive bars (staff was very friendly and helpful) I didn't see what all the things they said were there
"It was my sister's 50th wedding anniversary. We had never been to Merriville, ILL before. It's a nice town the people we're friendly and courteous. The staff were very professional. We enjoyed the wedding and had a great night's sleep.❤️"

Comfy bed, surprisingly big room, and I had called ahead to request an early check in the clerk politely communicated that it may or may not be ready in time but in the end they were able to get me in.
