Freetown Christiana, is a commune completely independent from the Danish Government. In 1971 a group of hippies took over abandoned military barracks and from there developed their own rules about their society. You can walk around this village for free and see the home made houses, locals going about their day, artwork, organic eateries and nature.

Take a walk down pusher street to really experience this self governing town. See the hash sellers in balaclavas and masks behind their stalls, they are open 24 hours a day and sell 30 different types of hash. It is very important that you DON'T TAKE PHOTOS in this area, Christiania has a list of rules when you enter please follow them, remember you are entering their home!

"Loved this hotel. It's in a good location, a short walk to the train station. Copenhagen is a very walkable city so we walked to most of the main tourist sites. The hotel is close to restaurants but not too close that it's noisy. In fact it was very quiet. The room isn't huge but big enough with good beds and furniture. I particularly liked the bathrooms that had ample counter space for toiletries. We didn't eat breakfast or use the restaurants or bar. For breakfast we just went to a nearby cafe for coffee and croissant."
