"Because we were only stopping for 2 nights we weren't too particular as to the room so chose the cheapest option but in retrospect we should have picked one next to the pool. We were in an annexe a 20meters away and it was a small room, though it did provide an effective ac unit, tea and coffee facilities, hit shower, clean towels both days, mosquito net, and it was clean and well presented. "Safari House had plenty of space for our family of five. While not in the heart of Stone Town, it wasn't a far walk (10 min) to get there. Romaine, our host, was quite accommodating. The power and water shut off in the morning and he was over immediately to fix it (we didn't realize it was on a timer and was an easy fix).
