"PLEASE BE AWARE. This place overbooks clients so when you arrive they say there is NO reservation under your name. Then they send you to another location of much lower quality. People at the new location confirmed that they do this all the time. It is not a mistake but rather a scam. I left that second location and was lucky to find a nice hotel nearby for the same price. I did get a refund but most people will probably stay where they are forced to stay due to lack of options and uncertainty. I...

"Difficult to find due to very small sign but very nice and large inside. Nice people with nice art and design inside. Negative the bed in my room was very soft and not good for me."

"I stayed one night, next morning the smell of sewerage from the bathroom drain was horrendous. I left the hotel immediately . The stairs to the top floors are steep & dangerous . Not a pleasant experience ."

"Lovely little hotel with individuell rooms and a restaurant bar right at the beach. We had one of the rooms with a spacious balcony, where you have stunning views of the ocean. Pia & Hashim are great hosts who let you feel like home, always friendly and willing to help you with everything. Their cute dog Leo & their cat complete the family. "I booked the hotel for thirty days and ended leaving after 4 days. The pictures may look pretty and filtered, and the name sounds wonderful. But the experience was not, this place should be named Eden Encampment. How this is labeled as a 3 star hotel is beyond me. This is at most a 1 star hotel on its best day. It was advertised on hotel.com as having free wifi, to my dismay there was NO WIFI. The owner tried to play it off by providing me with a sim card 2 days later, I was charged for...

"Safari House had plenty of space for our family of five. While not in the heart of Stone Town, it wasn't a far walk (10 min) to get there. Romaine, our host, was quite accommodating. The power and water shut off in the morning and he was over immediately to fix it (we didn't realize it was on a timer and was an easy fix). He also allowed us to store our luggage there after checkout time while we went out for a bit before our flight home. "

"Because we were only stopping for 2 nights we weren't too particular as to the room so chose the cheapest option but in retrospect we should have picked one next to the pool. We were in an annexe a 20meters away and it was a small room, though it did provide an effective ac unit, tea and coffee facilities, hit shower, clean towels both days, mosquito net, and it was clean and well presented. The main rooms surround the pool and are better proportioned. The owner and the staff are very pleasant...

"This place is amazing. Great service, amazing rooms. Perfect with both pool and ocean swimming. Great place to just hang out, you have everything you need there. The only thing is that it was a few families with kids which made it not very relaxing. We could be a bit unlucky, but maybe contact the hotel before booking to check if there are families with kids that have booked at the same time as you want to go. "

"We stayed in the Freddy Mercury suites which are ideally located....everything you need is within walking distance. The room was clean and bright and had everything we needed. What made our stay enjoyable was the staff... friendly, helpful and always with a smile on their face. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, had something for everyone - you certainly didn't leave hungry. Would definitely recommend this property for your visit to Stone Town."

Konokono Beach Resort and Isaraya Over Water Villa

"We absolutely loved our stay at Isayara luxury over water villa and konokono beach resort garden villa. The staff is very kind and available whenever you need them. We felt very welcomed and care for. The place is juste amazing and calm. We stayed in a garden villa for 3 nights and in an overwater villa for another 3 nights due to availability of the overwater villa when we booked. We loved both villas. The garden villa was so spacious and clean. The pool in the garden was very nice. We really enjoyed the daily visit of the monkey’s there. But of course the highlight of our stay was the overwater villa. WOW. The view everywhere in the villa. We spent most our day in our own little pool or the ocean on high tides. It was just a perfect relaxing moment. Room service was so efficient, we just had to call in to get some drink delivered. We really loved our stay at this property. It’s a fair drive from main attractions, but we didn't mind it as we booked our tours with hotel pickups. The hotel is worth the drive. "
