"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."

We were driving to Wilmington and had made plans to visit with friends in Pawleys Island on the way up. The Verandas only has check in from 4 to 5 pm so I sent a message to say we would not arrive until 6:00. No response so I called them. "We used to stay here often but Wyndham took over and it’s definitely run down. The bathroom has a brown substance on the shower curtain and mold in the shower. Other than that it was clean. The bed was comfortable. Only other issue we had was we showed up along with another family to check in and no one was there. We called the number they told the other family “ I’m busy you have to just wait 20 minutes “ by the time they showed up 3 parties including us were backed up to check in. Definitely...

"The management company, particularly Barbara, was very helpful and prompt in replying to all questions. Five stars for this! The house was spacious and accommodated our group of 13; however, the house is in need of updating. The dryer went out during our stay but was repaired but all appliances need to be upgraded. Pressure washing is needed for the exterior as we were unable to use the outdoor furniture due to the bird droppings and spider webs. Carpet is also in need of replacement. Although...
