I spent Memorial Day weekend with my mom, adult son and teenage niece at this beautiful cabin and we all enjoyed a relaxing, fun time! The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and plenty of room to spread out...everyone had their own bed and bathroom and I can honestly say it was more space than I expected, especially for the price! The finished basement provided a nice, comfy area to hang out and had toys, books and games for all ages. The only thing missing was the rest of our family...we could have easily enjoyed having more people with us and would not have felt crowded at all, especially with the second kitchen area.
We did have an initial issue with the water, which turned out to be the well pump needing to be reset, likely due to the power being out at some point. I reached out to the contact in the info book provided for guests and she responded right away (even after hours!) with helpful suggestion that resolved the issue after a couple of tries. The only other thing that wasn't a "perfect 10" was the wi-fi strength, which did frustrate my son a bit while he was trying to watch the NBA playoffs, but really didn't bother me at all. Considering four of us were trying to use the signal on our phones as well as multiple tvs, etc., I was surprised it was as good as it was in that location!
The wrap around porch was so nice, allowing you to enjoy sunrise and sunset with plenty of seating options. We were a little disappointed that we didn't see any bears, but the mule deer that came by each morning and night made up for it! And while the location was a bit remote, it was an easy drive to Colorado Springs and Canyon City for day trips. Overall, I just wish we'd had more time there to enjoy and explore...I hope to return someday and never leave lol! :)
