"Our three night stay was excellent. The home is comfortable, clean, and has all the amenities couples may need for an extended stay. It is an older home and has updated and renovated. Nicely done. Though we were there in the colder weather I can imagine how nice this would be in the late spring and summer. Very peaceful surroundings yet close to town and restaurants."

"The pictures of your property are beautiful, but unfortunately, they did not reflect several issues we encountered during our stay. I wanted to reach out directly to share our experience, as it ended up being far less satisfactory than we expected.The most concerning issues were related to safety:1 The spindle at the top of the staircase is missing. This is not visible in the photos and presents a serious fall hazard, especially since we had mentioned that a toddler/baby would be with us. Which cause one of the parties with the toddler not to stay with us for more than 1 day.2 The bathroom doors do not close properly and do not lock. With multiple families sharing the home, privacy becomes an important concern.3 One of the kitchen drawers pulls completely out because it appears to be missing a support/foot. This nearly caused an accident, multiple times.4 The flooring in several areas is uneven and was not very clean. Combined with the rolled rug, this created a noticeable tripping hazard.There were also a few logistical issues we encountered during our stay. I wanted to reach out directly to share:First we did not receive a code to the house until 3:30 for a 3:00 check in.• Basic items and information were missing, including toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and clear check-in/check-out instructions.**Most important, the host was completely unavailable. We tried to call and text through VRBO multiple times with no response from the host."

"We were put in a lodging that wasn’t the one we rented. We had no hot water and the owner wouldn’t fix so VRBO moved us to a hotel. Terrible. We have asked for a refund but have gotten no response from VRBO. As far as I am concerned this is fraud. "

"This property, although spacious, is not really up to modern standards. We checked in several hours after the check in time and found the property was still being cleaned. While I appreciate things can come up, lack of any heads-up from the host was disappointing. The trash bins outside were full from previous guests. One of the units had no silverware or adequate pots/pans. Some of the window blinds were falling off, and there were some other damages which were aesthetically really unappealing. Linens, pillows, blankets etc are not the best quality (or even good quality).The property is not centrally heated but instead has individual units which take quite a while to spread the heat throughout the house. We checked in when the temperature was 10 degrees below freezing and spent a few hours shivering especially when not sitting right in front of the hot air coming from the wall units. There was significant ice accumulation around the property including driveway, which made walking very dangerous. I asked the host about that and they told us that it was guest’s responsibility to clean that (which is in violation of CT state law for short-term rentals which require hosts to ensure safe conditions for guests, especially when notified of things such as icy walkways).Overall, while the space has the potential to be a great spot for large group, it requires quite a few changes to ensure positive experience for guests. "
