"The staff were very good in the breakfast room, Carolina was very pleasant and cheerful and always willing to be helpful, Phillipe was trying hard with his English a very nice young man. The breakfast room was very cold, air conditioning was on full blast so that when we got to our table with the warm breakfast it was cold. We paid extra to be in a river view room, this was a mistake as it was on the cold side of the hotel it didn't get any sun coming into the room through the day , when we came back to the room after being in the warm sunshine the room was very very cold, the Aircon was set for Summertime so no heat in the room. We told the reception about this and the Lady said it could not be changed and that we could have some extra blankets if we wanted them. but this would not help the atmosphere in the room. We had brought HOT WATER BOTTLES with us so that helped when we were in bed. We had booked for nine nights but had to leave after five nights as my wife caught a chill."

"We had the most incredible stay from start to finish. We had our puppy Quincy with us and the from the moment we walked into the hotel we were treated so well by all the staff and they were so accommodating of Quincy. Room was spacious, and you couldn’t hear anyone through the walls. Bed super comfortable! Our room also had a dog bed, lovely bowls and a toy which was a lovely touch. We need to know Hilton’s secret because it always smells incredible! 😂 Truly have not a bad word to say about this hotel, the staff were truly amazing and we had some lovely conversations with them. We will definitely be back."

"Location is fantastic. Ocean view from the hotel room is fantastic. This is not 4-star. Rooms aren't clean. Toilet was leaking. Utensils in the kitchen still had food on them from prior guests. Silverfish in kitchen cabinets."

Their dining room staff with the dedicated leadership of Carlotta is at the highest levels of hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the incredible new 12 course tasting menu one evening. The indoors and out door pools are inviting with a spa-like atmosphere. The front desk staff is eager to assist, including loading and unloading luggages. Nothing but the best to say - this hotel is a gem."

"Practically new hotel in the middle of the old town, clean rooms, friendly staff (contact through WhatsApp), no reception, very small pool on the terrace opened in May. Fair price. Close to World of Wine, Douro river and port wine cellars."
