"Arrived from an overnight flight from New York wanting a shower and lay down. Room 1: Very hot/aircon didn’t work, broken bed, flickering ceiling lights Went to reception who sent an engineer to look at the aircon, he tried it and it didn’t work and then left without saying anything. Went to reception again to ask for another room to be told there wasn’t another room available. They lied. The booking website said 5 rooms available. I had to say if another room isn’t given I want a refund and we’ll go to another hotel. Room 2: Again, very hot/aircon didn’t work Went back to reception and spoke to someone else who was questioning that it must be me, guests had just stayed in that room and there were no issues. Room 3: Flickering ceiling lights Finally given a cool room but the ceiling lights flickered. Don’t be fooled by the edited shiny photos, it is very rough around the edges with only some parts refurbished. The staff couldn’t care less. Shower water temperatures varies from hot to cold when showing. A number of lifts were also out of order."

"Highlight was definitely the wonderful staff, they were so friendly. Special mention to Laura and Lola in the restaurant, always smiling and happy to help. The food was great and a big selection catering for traditional uk and local/international options. The pool area was great too, lots of room but no changing room strangely? Positives far outweigh the few minor negatives. Yes it is noisy; you can hear every chair scraping on a distant balcony and the doors slam-is this down to the hotel or guests though? Positive list- comfy bed, great shower, wifi worked well, bar prices reasonable, close to everything (despite the hill!) Would definitely go back."

"This hotel is by far one of the best, from you get there to when you leave, all staff are absolutely lovely, Daniel, and the rest of the staff, from the reception, to the restaurants, to over all, you have been an amazing team, always smiling and so helpful, I couldn’t ask for a better experience, and I am definitely coming back, is hotel is more than a 5* hotel. "Expedia lie on the room description. This hotel does NOT have air-conditioning and when you email them they tell you they do. This is an outright lie. Do not book. "
