"We have stayed at this hotel several times and I have given 5 stars in the past. This recent stay we have noticed items which are need of repair or replacement such as the mattresses in our room. "

"Property has an excellent location directly on the ocean with panoramic views. It also has a spectacular pool area with fire pits and great outside seating area. They provide convenient parking and shuttle transportation to downtown Newport. Lastly, the staff throughout the property was friendly, competent and accommodating. I would recommend this property highly."

"Very clean, rooms I. Excellent condition, wonderful staff. We love the Viking and consider other places to stay but for 15 years of visiting there, we consistently have stayed exclusively at Hotel Viking. With that said, the new parking rates and resort fees have increased dramatically and it almost prevented us from staying there this time. It’s an extra $100 a night to stay there because of these fees and that makes us hesitant to stay there again, especially since it’s not on the water. Also...

" I went there with relatively low expectations other than clean sheets. I was pleased with the room, in general. The bed was lumpy, higher in the middle, lower on the sides. There was a fat pillow & a thin pillow for choice. Not very comfortable for sleeping but clean. When I sat down at the desk, the seat of the chair was hardly there; it was missing the base, the frame was there, so I took one of the decor pillows & put it on the chair-problem fixed.
