My loft-like log house is open-space design with lots of windows that give an experience of being outside even when you are in. The back patio looks out over a pond where tropical birds dive, Jesus lizards show off their water-walking skills, and lotus bloom. This is a jungle experience, near a small fishing town in Guanacaste, called San Juanillo.

This is a place for relaxing, enjoying the beach and taking great local adventures like spotting whales and dolphins, watching the turtles lay eggs on the beach, zip lining, horseback riding, surfing and snorkeling. While there are a couple of small restaurants in town and some within driving distance, shopping and real nightlife are 30 miles away in Nosara. Buy fish at the Fisherman's Beach caught that morning. Watch the sun drop into the Pacific in a big red ball every night from the beach. Listen to the waves in your bed and expect to awaken with the roosters and howler monkeys. You can truly unwind to the sounds of nature. This is an off-grid experience. The roads are not paved, you need a 4-wheel drive SUV to forge the rivers. It's an experience you won't get on the beaten path.

While you are remote, the amazing 5-star Hacienda del Sol is right next door to full pamper you. You can set up a series of massages, body scrubs, or deeper body work including cranio-sacral treatments, rebalancing and more.

The house has two bedrooms (one queen, two singles), they are private, but somewhat open because of the design. There are an additional 5 single beds which comprise couches in the living area -- and can be used for additional guests.

There is one full bath and one outdoor shower.

Beautiful wood kitchen cabinets and windows overlooking the pond. The kitchen counter seats four as do the kitchen and the patio tables.

If you need to work, the pond and WiFi are an outdoor office that will inspire you. And if you like to do yoga outside or just sip a cup of coffee while reading your email, the upper deck off the master bedroom makes you feel like you are truly living in a treehouse.

The living room is designed for lounging - so bring a book and enjoy some board games, talking, snoozing and getting reacquainted. This is a plugged-in place perfect for unplugging.
