The bedroom was small but it's an old coaching inn so many irregularities to be expected. The bathroom was big! Dinner and breakfast were very good and the location is good. Not far to the lake district or borders and very peaceful in a small village."

"We had to leave very early the next morning to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike and the staff accommodated us, giving us instructions on how we could check ourselves out, thank you! My only complaint would be the showerhead in our room was very grimy and should be replaced, otherwise the room was excellent!"

"A quick overnight stop on route to Glasgow. A lovely tranquil place with a lovely bar area overlooking the gardens. Bedroom had a seating area which was an added bonus. Comfortable. A good hearty breakfast!"
