"The property itself was generally clean, but our room had a strong unpleasant odor, similar to a sewer smell, which we believe was coming from the kitchen sink drain. This was by far the worst part of our stay. After a long day of sightseeing, it was very unpleasant to return to the room and be greeted by that smell. We hope the hotel addresses this issue, as it really affected our overall experience.
On the positive side, the breakfast was very good, and the location is excellent. While there were quite a few homeless people in the area and the surrounding streets were not the cleanest, I understand that is not the hotel's responsibility. The hotel is within walking distance of Love Park, Independence Hall, and Reading Terminal Market, and there are several great restaurants nearby.
One downside is the parking situation. The valet parking was, in my opinion, extremely expensive, and the hotel does not offer a self-parking option. This can be a significant drawback for guests who are traveling by car, especially those on a road trip."
