Affordable beach getaway!

  • Unit 009 - Surf Club B4 Perfect spot for an affordable gulf access vacation with pool! Located in the East End of Dauphin Island in the gated gulf front community of Surf Club, this condo offers an open floor plan with fully stocked kitchen with breakfast bar, formal dining area and living room, and a large sun room area with futon! Master bedroom offers a king sized bed and full bath with stand shower. Second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and ensuite full bath. Complex amenities offer an outdoor swimming pool and boardwalk to the beach. Enjoy all that quaint, quiet island life has to offer! East end location puts you within 1.5 mi to the Sea Lab, Estuarium, historic Civil War-era fort, ferry landing, Audubon Nature Preserve, sacred Shell Mounds, Cadillac Square, and Magnolia Park, as well as the island bike path. A short walk leads to the swimming pool and boardwalk extending to the Gulf waters.

The condo was clean and cozy. We didn’t use the pool as it was still a bit chilly for us. The staff at check in were very friendly, helpful, and professional.

Let me start off by saying for the most part our overall stay was good. The pool is nice. There are several updates that should be made to the property and some warnings for people who have not stayed on the island. The day room is directly connected to the master bedroom and is only seperated by shutter style closet doors and not really a "separate" room. There is terrible air flow in the smaller bedroom which made it was very hot and stuffy. The refrigerator/freezer smelled like fish despite the fact it had been cleaned. Therefore anything we stored in there ended up with a fish oder. The beach is closer to the oil rigs than I thought. After hours check in started before the stated time of 4:30. We had to pick up our folder outside at 4:08pm. Cell signal is very spotty. There are no grocery stores except one and it is incredibly overpriced. There are no delivery services available either so make sure you get all of your groceries needs in Mobile beforehand. The appliances need to be updated.

Only tiny beach/water view! So disappointed! Concrete steps and landing need structural repairs. 60s/70s vibe.. my grandchildren loved everything and especially the pool. The beach was very accessible and private. Phone and internet were unreliable. Appliances were modern and it was well supplied with dishes. It was clean and neat.
