"We stayed 2 nights with our dog during a tour of the Rutland area and further afield. We were really impressed by the hotel - great location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely walks locally, well maintained facilities, lots of spaces for chilling out, lovely food and welcoming of our dog in all locations. We had a lovely stay and this hotel is high on our list for a return, perhaps without our dog so we can use the spa facilities! The only slight negatives were that the room looked a little...

"The "hotel" in some respects was reasonable (vehicle parking, visual appearance, and the room itself), but did not justify the name of hotel. The property offered no facilities for an evening meal (and even the nearest dining facilities {more than half a mile away} was closing down at the end of the day we were there and only offered a limited menu on that day). "First class surroundings, first class staff, first class food."

"Excellent, as always. Spacious, comfortable room with character. Lovely bistro and wonderful breakfast room."

"Very good for the cost! Would be great if an electric charger could be installed in the future for charging."

"Parking not at all adequate. I had very little contact with staff. Room was cramped, should have been just a single room."

"Very nice traditional hotel, has a lot of character. The rooms are a tad dated but fit the atmosphere of the building. Really comfy beds and we had memory foam pillows on a big bed. It is also a restaurant but we didn't eat here, but it smells very nice. Would very much stay here again for the price"

"Standard of accomadation clean and tidy, and a very fair price, all in all ideal for our one night stop over, proprietor servers a great pint of beer."

"Nice pub with rooms - spacious parking, good outdoor space , very nice room in cottage attached to pub. Didn’t have time to stay for breakfast but did take advantage of half price deal on Friday evening food. "

"Non-contact hotel offering good facilities for stay in Oakham. Comfy bed, very nice washroom and basic appliances. Good value for money"
