We had an unfortunate event on our first night with Housekeeping, and they tried to compensate us as much as possible, kindness and attention was our favorite reaction from all their personnel, from cart drivers, restaurants, SPAs, and the stars were the reception team. "The on-site hot springs were fantastic. The concierge service helped us find a great tour for our last day, and they were very accommodating in allowing us a late checkout to work with our flight plans. The views from the balcony were excellent, and the room was incredibly spacious. Dining options were good, though pricy. Try to stop at a grocery store before settling into the property - some cheaper snacks and breakfast items would have been a good buy for us."

"Tabacón is an incredible resort! The springs is much larger than you would expect, with many beautiful parts to find privacy and relaxation. The drinks are incredible and views are even better. We indulged in a couples volcanic mud massage- and it was the best massage ever! The spa is beautiful, peaceful and worth it! One thing to consider is that it is a 20minute ride to town, so you are pretty much committed to eating at the resort- which is not cheap. Each drink is $15 and meals are $20 ....

"Great family place, relaxing, fairly quiet in early May. Nice pools, hot springs very hot to hot to warm as they cascade down terrace. Sauna was hot as well, great shower booths around pool. Breakfast buffet included was awesome and reasonable priced dinners delicious with incredible view of volcano if you sit on edge of open restaurant (no AC but was ok in am and dinner with fans). I would have given it a 5 star, but our room was supposed to have 2 queen beds and instead it had a king. I complained and their solution was to bring in a twin bed. "
