A 5 star experience in a wonderful wooded area of the city. Striking design and great ambience combined with top level amenities, excellent food and friendly staff make the stay at this hotel an experience that I will always remember. Get ready to be spoiled when staying at this hotel! Part of the amenities also includes plenty of parking and a free shuttle service to the train station.

One of the best hostels have stayed at. Very clean, modern, beautiful kitchen. Great staff. However, there are challenges if you do not have a car. The distance to the train station going into the city is really quite a walk. Taxis are not always available. So I advise you MUST make arrangements for staff to pick you up at the train station and you must make arrangements at least one day in advance. They need to arrange to have an extra person on staff in order to be able to pick you up. There...

This traditional ryotan was wonderful. It was a blend of traditional Japanese with modern updates. We booked a suite that had western beds and a private onsen. Our sons shared a smaller room with tatami mats. We selected the traditional dinner and breakfast which were wonderful experiences. An unforgettable experience with my son who is 9 we enjoyed the private onsen with 2 separate baths we bathed under the stars which was perfect. The staff was incredibly accommodating attentive and so SWEET , the Japanese chocolate covered pecans are dreamy definitely grab a box or 2!

All around incredible stay. Located on the Onsen road, with access to two public baths outside of the hotel, two very well equipped Onsen within the hotel, and the option to reserve a private Onsen as well. Not listed on when booking, but the hotel picked us up from the train station, as well as runs a free shuttle once every morning (940am) to the monkey park. Private retreat nestled in the woods of Karuizawa! Wonderful host - very friendly and attentive. Our visit in June was right before their hydrangeas blossomed….i can imagine it would have been even more magical!

Walking distance to lake, waterfall, and national park. Relaxing and serene atmosphere.
