Had a great stay at Chez Martine and Philippe. Beautiful place, easy, delicious breakfast and Philippe and Martine were helpful, responsive, and answered questions before we could even think to ask them. We highly recommend their hotel, and the delightful village. We will definitely return.

Stunning place to stay. Beautiful, comfortable bedroom with an area to self cater & small dining table. Excellent meal brought to our terrace, we managed to eat outside in awe of the amazing scenery surrounding us. Excellent breakfast, all produced and made by the owners. Superb!

Overall this is a nice property, it has nice grounds and lobby is quite nice. The room is I see appointed but typical hotel room. My only complaint was with the bed, For some reason they put some kind of plastic sheet underneath the cotton sheet, It crinkles when you roll over and it gets folded and was not comfortable. The restaurant was okay but nothing special

The pictures and description of this place online do not do it justice. We had no idea to expect that we'd drive a rough cobblestone road up the mountain to stay the night in a fairy tale castle, complete with a tower and a truly BREATHTAKING view of the countryside from our tall French windows which opened up to admit a fragrant breeze.
Truthfully, we chose the hotel only because it was close to Chavaniac-Lafayette, and we didn't expect much. But even if our expectations had been higher, I...

The hotel is quite well-named; it really feels like the end of the world. Their dinner menu with a 17-euro three-course meal, aperitifs at 2.5 euros and a 50cl carafe of very drinkable wine at 6 euros made the place feel like a steal. HIghly recommended?
