I cannot recommend Schnatterhof enough, especially for anyone traveling solo! I was traveling through Austria alone and speak essentially no German, so staying somewhere rural was a little intimidating at first. I arrived on Sunday, September 29. Neither my reservation with Expedia nor the hotel's site mentioned that the hotel front desk as well as the hotel is closed on Sunday. Luckily I received an email from the hotel a few days before my arrival that advised me of this and the fact that I had to access the key for my room at a lock box at the front door of the hotel using a code sent in the email and thus I was able to let myself into the hotel and my room. At the crest of the gorge but above the main road so very little noise. The staff were very helpful. The bedroom was I perfect condition as was the en suite bathroom. Unfortunately the dinner menu was limited but the receptionist suggested 4 hostelries near by. Breakfast was great. A short walk into the gorge is included in the price. Excellent stay! The pictures don't do justice as the hotel is immaculate and the views are heavenly. You would love the fact that it's run by the Stadler family who works everyday together to provide you with the best service. Fully equipped and laid back style. Brilliant

Super clean. Nice room with all amenities needed but I didn’t see a human being the whole time I was there. Checked in automatically and easily and left before anyone arrived. All good though

A great place to stay

This stay was amazing. The view from the balcony was beautiful, the amenities for the lake were awesome, and the room was very spacious as well. We unfortunately had a small gripe with how hot it was when we went. We found out later that if I had requested a fan I could’ve gotten one. The laundry machine is one tiny one for the whole building you have to pay to use in euro coins. Everything is about a 5-10 minute walk into the town. The bikes were awesome to use!
