We had a fantastic stay. It was low season and the owners treated us like family. The food was great, the room was nice though so be aware the open concept means the shower and toilet are basically in the same room.

My family (2 adults, 1 child) really enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and rich culture and history of this part of the Douro Valley. Maria was a wonderful host, and she was especially helpful in finding a particular, fairly new viewpoint in the Douro Valley and just in providing helpful information for things to do and things to eat. We really want to come back when we choose to visit Portugal again in the future.

PROS -fantastic host.. Jose was simply awesome -beautiful venue. short drive from Regua -comfortable bed and soft bedding -lots of hot water and great pressure One of the best B&B's we've stayed at in Portugal. I can't find anything negative to say. We highly recommend!

We stayed at the Quinta S. Bernardo in late September and we can’t say enough about this property! The property is just beautiful with a stunning view of the Douro River and surrounded by the vineyards. The Quinta is family owned and lovingly and beautifully designed and decorated. All our meals were straight from the farm, from the breakfast to the lunches to the exquisite dinners made by the chef, everything was incredibly fresh. One of our favorite hotel experiences ever!! The hotel itself is understated luxury with subtle mid century decor and elements. The pool and spa with additional indoor pool, steam room, sauna, and gym were beautiful and really were a huge perk. The included breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and courteous. We can’t wait to visit again. Also, the wine that comes from the hotel’s vineyard was the best red wine we had on our trip. You won’t be disappointed staying here!...

Great communication

Meticulously clean property, quiet, relaxing, and professionally managed hotel. I have nothing but superlatives to say about our experience in Favaios. The town itself is worth the trip and the people are among the most friendly I have encountered in Portugal. Even the dogs are mellow. We will return.

This is a beautiful property. The pride and tradition expressed both by the family who owns and runs the property as well as by the manner in which the property is maintained was clear. I would highly recommend a stay at this winery if you looking for excellent wine and a true experience with a Portuguese wine maker. We dislike "touristy" experience when traveling so this did not disappoint. We hope to return some day!!

This property is not only historic but recently updated to freshen it up. The staff was absolutely wonderful and the views cannot be beat. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wine-centered place to stay in Lamego!

For someone who wants the experience of a full five star hotel luxury amenities and service — Vidago Palace is your choice. Starting with the greeting at the royal entrance of the palace and exceptional reception service and ending with the spa treatments everything makes you feel like royalty😂 Not to mention their excellent breakfast and a Michelin star dinner we had for a special occasion. And of course a magic park surrounding the palace.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were very attentive and professional. We love the resort.
