"We enjoyed our stay here at this beautiful hotel. The view from our room of the Douro river was amazing. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. We had an absolutely delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. The hotel location is perfect; the waterfront, wineries and the town are all within walking distance. A perfect stay!"

"We were so surprised by what was hiding behind the entrance door to this stay. A non descript metal door opened onto the cutest gravel courtyard and beyond that a lovely vineyard. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We decided last minute to join other guests for dinner and a wine pairing. My gluten free diet was accommodated and the food was amazing. But more so was the experience of touring the historical family home and dining by candlelight. Hearing all about the wine from the owner/wine maker was the cherry on top. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. "

"The hotel was in a remote area but had beautiful views and was worth the effort. The swimming pool was a welcome addition as it was very hot when we arrived. The dinner and breakfast were good. There seemed to be a problem with the doors to the rooms which people kept banging to get them to close. Added to that someone managed to open our door when we were almost asleep and the hotel dog ran into our room. Very disconcerting and not condusive to a good nights sleep."
