Unique and tranquil cabin getaway on Crooked Creek

Unique and tranquil cabin getaway on Crooked Creek

10/10 Excellent
"This property was amazing! The creek is literally right outside the front door and it’s much more beautiful than the pictures. The cabin was well stocked and very clean. There are horses right behind the cabin that were an awesome plus. It was great to look out the windows and see the creek or horses. It was quiet and relaxing. The host was great with communication. Our family had a blast. We would 100% stay again!!"

8/10 Good
"We enjoyed it thoroughly. Only suggestions would be to add grab bars in the shower and beside the full bath commode and remove rough concrete beside the drive/patio area. Our group was all older ladies and had to be very careful to avoid falling. Also, one of the ladies fell on the ramp from the laundry room up to the kitchen. We all agreed it would have been easier to have just had a simple step up instead of the ramp. But we will definitely recommend this home to others and would return again if a home in Salem is needed."

Cozy Steelville Retreat: River + Trail Access!

Cozy Steelville Retreat: River + Trail Access!

10/10 Excellent
"Loved Hazel and Oliver cottages, they were both just as pictured. The cottages were spotlessly clean and the mattresses/linens/bathrooms/towels were high quality—very luxurious. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed. The cottages are “very old,” but the renovations provided incredible modern amenities while retaining the feel of years gone by. Brilliant, stunning design. Our only mention is the access to the river. The climb down and back up was taxing, especially for the older folks in our group. However, being in the Meramec was very relaxing, fishing was exciting. We enjoyed the fire pit and the huge dining room/table every night. The security and privacy are unmatched. Just a gem of a place way out in the woods, down by the river."
