"Breakfast very good, room nice size, good bed, nice bathroom. Friendly staff. Only problem, extractor fan from neighbouring restaurant, but nothing they can do about that. Keep window closed and the a/c works fine. All in all, nice place."

"Room wasn’t what we expected for the price. Really needs some modernising. Unfortunately parking can be abit tricky and the hotel don’t have any reserved spots which ended up leaving us nowhere to park one day. "

"The hotel is fairly basic, the rooms look a bit dated, there was a crack in my bath surround and some staining on the ceiling, but I believe the rooms are due for refurbishment shortly, so this is likely to improve. The parking is just over the road, and is free for as long as you're staying (you can come and go without registering again apparently). The hotel as a whole was clean and tidy. The food was good but a bit pricey in my opinion, but it is a touristy area, so base your expectations on that. The real stand-out was the staff, they are welcoming and clearly enjoy their jobs, and are a perfect example of Welsh hospitality. This is a good hotel as a base to explore Eryri"

"This is a beautiful hotel/pub with a breath taking view over the Dyfi estuary. Set in cottages built in 1750s it has lovely nooks and crannies and quirky floor levels but the beds and bathroom are all first class. Notes worth knowing, the Hotel is 100 yards from the Penhelig request train stop but the hotel does not have a carpark. There is a public carpark around the corner at £15.75 a day or a few on road parking free 6pm to 9am."

"Pet-friendly BUT you need to know that the guesthouse is just a small part of a large caravan and camping site. There’s also a field of horses. Guesthouse clients with dogs are only allowed in rooms accessible from the outside; we weren’t allowed inside the building. So my room opened directly onto the access road, with all the mud and noise that comes from all the traffic, walkers, and horses that passed in front of the door and small window. The staff can’t be criticised. There seemed to be only 2 that I saw, and they were very helpful. But the guesthouse clients were supposed to be self-checkin and out, except I was NOT notified of my room number or that my name would be on a big notice on the door which I drove past. My room was clean on arrival but impossible to keep that way because of the mud, but I also had a small ant infestation, so couldn’t keep bags on the floor, but there was only the bed and a dining chair to put them on. I didn’t report the ant problem to the staff, because there was nowhere else for me to be moved, and I didn’t want the room treated whilst my stuff was in it. Description stated there was a terrace, but my room certainly didn’t have one. I assume that was where the door into the house was, because there was a small table and chairs outside the main door. So I expect other reviews will depend on where they were situated. My room was a single, allowing dogs. "
