"I've stayed at Old Silk Appartments twice so far in apartments 8 and 9. Both I found spotless, white soft towels, comfy beds, tastefully decorated well maintained and adequately appointed. Large fridge freezer, 4 ring hob oven and microwave, basic set of kitchen utensils and a couple of pans adequate to cook something simple. "Night staff were fantastic! Our flight arrived in after midnight.They went above and beyond to look after us. 10 out of 10 Room was clean and comfortable. Loved The Espa range toiletries. Breakfast was disappointing today.We especially chose this hotel ,as we stayed here previously , and enjoyed the delicious breakfast. However, today was not so good. Ran out of coffee,plates and glasses.Food not been replenshised quickly long waits. Tables with dirty dishes on. My husband had to wait quite a while for his order. Its ashame as it was like this hotel very much,as we were looking forward to finishing of our holiday here."

"Our stay at Bosworth Hall Hotel & Spa was unfortunately far from the experience we had hoped for. Even though we only stayed for one night, that was more than enough. From the moment we checked in, there was no warm welcome or friendly greeting, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. The room itself was very disappointing—dusty, dated, and showing clear signs of neglect. The bed linen was ripped, and as a family with allergies, the dust made the room particularly unpleasant and uncomfortable. The lack of customer service continued at check-out. We were simply asked for our room number, and before the process was finished, the receptionist started serving another guest. I was left standing there and had to ask whether I was actually checked out and free to leave. It's a real shame because the hotel looks impressive when you drive up to it, creating high expectations. Unfortunately, the reality did not live up to the first impression, and overall the hotel was a significant let-down."

"We had an awful stay at Hilton Birmingham Metropole. The experience started with extremely long queues, but the biggest issue was being woken by the fire alarm at 2am. After being forced to stand outside in horrendous rain and thunder, we eventually returned to our room and got back into bed, only to be woken again a few hours later by another false alarm. While in the lift during the first evacuation, another guest told us they had experienced the same issue repeatedly throughout the week during the night, which is quite frankly unacceptable. Our child was absolutely petrified by the whole ordeal, and after the second alarm we decided to pack up and prepare to leave. As a result, we got virtually no sleep at all. It's a real shame because the hotel itself is lovely and the décor is beautiful, but the repeated false alarms completely ruined our stay. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend it based on our experience."

"Yet another stay at this beautiful renovated city centre hotel. As always a very pleasant welcome on arrival and at check-in, plenty of easy parking (and not expensive). Beautiful spacious double room with en suite shower a bath and toiletries to hand, N/B no air conditioning presently, but given two large effective fans running through out the day to help maintain room airflow, room was serviced every day to maintain clean and crisp atmosphere. Breakfast served as a buffet along side a small A La Carte menu offering upgrades. Beautiful bar and reception area offering drinks or respite from city centre life."

"Very disappointing stay and certainly not the standard advertised. We booked a half-board stay after seeing the hotel’s own advertising which stated guests could enjoy a “3-course set menu dinner”. Instead, we were presented with a buffet that was of extremely poor quality. The carvery meats were largely inedible, vegetables were either undercooked or poor quality, and some items appeared frozen or improperly prepared. The overall dining experience was nowhere near what had been advertised. The restaurant itself also raised hygiene concerns. We witnessed food waste being scraped into open bins directly beside diners while people were still eating, there were flies present, and several restaurant chairs were visibly stained and dirty. The leisure facilities were equally disappointing. The changing rooms had a strong unpleasant odour, excessive condensation, damaged lockers and a general lack of upkeep. In the steam room, a drain grate had collapsed creating a trip hazard in an area with limited visibility. The pool area felt tired and poorly maintained, with rusting furniture and a hot tub that appeared heavily chlorinated, leaving us with skin irritation and headaches afterwards. Unfortunately, the room was no better. There was a noticeable urine smell, heavily stained bedding and mattress protectors, stains on the room furniture, a damaged window locking mechanism and generally poor standards of cleanliness and maintenance throughout."

"The change from Ibis to AC Marriott appears to have come with a make-over that maybe wasn't quite complete (bar was stripped back). But the look and atmosphere is clean, relaxing and the staff are friendly. Over UKGE convention weekend though, there seemed to be a slight shortage of staff. In the afternoon there was only one staff member in attendance at the bar and breakfast was a little chaotic with missing plates or items taking a long time to refill. I did love the little touches like having lavender at bed time though. Overall I enjoyed the stay and hope that the rougher edges smooth out. Would recommend."
