"The apartment is nice, though it does need some remodeling. Marianela, the host, was very hospitable—an excellent person. The one exception was Sunday, when the power and water went out—though that is beyond the host's control and is a city issue. However, the place is cozy; just be sure to arrive in an SUV or off-road vehicle, as you have to drive up steep trails that a standard car wouldn't be able to handle."

"I was very happy with the choice of staying at this place. I stayed for two months and was able to cook. The beds were comfortable and the space felt large. There is a large front porch with rocking chairs that has views of the mountains. So when it rains you can still hang out on the porch. The sunset clouds are so beautiful. There is the most wonderful local family that overseas the property. The only downside is the road up to the place is really rough."

"The house overseas the kiosks on the beach. An absolute breathtaking view. The house itself is stunning. Very well kept and clean. There is a family that takes care of the house and makes sure you are satisfied with any needs. 5 mins before getting to the house, you will be met with steep slopes but definitely possible and safe. I look forward on staying here again. I thank everyone for the hospitality and the wonderful memories that were made. "

"Our experience was unfortunately very disappointing from the moment we arrived. We got there almost exactly at 3:00 p.m., which was the check-in time, but there was no one there to receive us. "This hotel is great and a great bargain. The staff is super helpful, management is very flexible and accomodating (they worked with us so that we could have breakfast earlier than they open), the views are amazing and the place is very spacious, which is great for families with kids who like to explore and play freely outdoors. The one constraint worth mentioning is that depending on where your house is located on the property, it can be a 20-25 minute walk on a hill to the town, which can be tricky to navigate with food. That said, if you have a car, that will not be an issue and you can always get a local taxi to help you out. I still highly recommend this hotel and it's definitely worth 5 stars in my book!"

"My name is Mark Grayson I’m from Lethbridge Alberta Canada The Black Pearl Inn was absolutely awesome ! From the very beginning when I checked in with Caroline… she was awesome ! The place is spotless, the pool spotless ! The view amazing ! Breakfast incredible ! You’re a two minute walk from the beach. You’re a two minute walk from everywhere downtown laundry restaurants, shops location is amazing. Ya gotta stay here…. You won’t regret it. !!! I would post some photos, but the photos I took don’t do the place justice . I I highly recommend this place… Do it"

"I've been coming back for more than 20 years, even before the new owners upgraded everything. This hotel is the best value in San Juan Del Sur. Next to cathedral and main park, walk to everything. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and fully bilingual. The neighborhood while very close in is quiet and safe. Its just below Pelican Eyes at half the price. Rooms and beds light, airy and comfortable even at the lower price point. All town's amenities are a few steps away."
