OUR CUSTOM BUILT BALI STYLE HOME WAS DESIGNED TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE SPECTACULAR VIEWS ON OUR PROPERTY. THE VILLA IS SITUATED IN A EXCLUSIVE GATED COMMUNITY CALLED PICA FLORA.
OUR HOME IS BUILT ON 2 ACRES, LOCATED ABOUT A MILE OUTSIDE OF ATENAS AND IS PART OF AN EXCLUSIVE GATED ECO-RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY CALLED PICA FLORA.

A GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND WATCH THE TROPICAL BIRDS. A PERGOLA ON THE DECK SERVES AS ANOTHER OUTDOOR DINNING AREA.
WE LOVE TO COOK SO THERE’S EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED IN OUR LARGE KITCHEN AND YOU’LL FIND MOST FOOD SUPPLIES AT THE SUPER MARKET IN ATENAS. LIZ AND I ARE AVID GARDENERS AND WE'VE FILLED OUR PROPERTY WITH PLENTY OF TROPICAL PLANTS AND FRUIT TREES. THERE’S EVEN A SMALL HERB GARDEN OFF THE KITCHEN. We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about our stay at Judd’s and Liz’s home! The house manager, Leticia, greeted us and was so kind and informative about the house and the town of Atenas. She even checked in with us several times to make sure everything was in order. The house and furnishings were top notch! We prepared several meals and found the kitchen well equipped. We loved eating outdoors under the rancho while enjoying the view and the birds. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

I came to unwind and rebalance

Beautiful home!

The house is spectacular, beautifully designed and maintained. All the spaces have a wonderful indoor/outdoor feel. There are flowers and birds everywhere, and there is a very good view of a huge valley and mountain ridge where birds soar and cattle roam in the distance. Highly recommend!

Magical Oasis

Stunningly beautiful house and view, safely tucked away in a private gated sanctuary. Set on the edge of a steep ridge line overlooking a valley, that is home to monkeys, birds, iguanas, giant moths and butterflies living in harmony with neighbouring farms set on the impressive slopes around us. All this a short 5 minute drive to town. This home is magical.

5 friends had a great time!

Wonderful place. Comfortable for 2-3 couples. LOVE the outdoor shower looking over the forest. Absolutely recommend and would heavily consider staying again in the future. Also, check out La Casona Michoacana. Excellent nearby Mexican place!

Love this place

This is our first visit to Costa Rica and wow this place was beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. The hosts were great and we used all of their recommendations for excursions, drivers and taxi. We did not need to rent a car and after experiencing the driving we are so happy we made this decision. We will be back!

I just spent a week for Thanksgiving at this incredible home. It is even more beautiful in person. The house is equipped with everything you need. The management is quick to respond. The owners checked in while I was there to see if I needed anything. Great home and great hosts.

Real Costa Rica local stay

Roads fun , 4 wheel drive not required to get there, but to go most places of adventure would want high clearance or 4 WD , though locals don't. Mountain views stunning weather most days beautiful til 4 or 5 then rain. Pool great , common area phenomenal. All necessary things supplied , very safe , saw parrots and Capuchin monkeys big troupe, iguanas. And you will see lots of types of insects. Mostly outdoors, mosquitoes no issue but we kept spray handy and on. The pictures are real, the town 5 kilometers away but Costa Rica drive times 2 min a kilometer. Lol. Roads paved but two tight lanes and one bridge lane ,shared with pedestrians. Atenas and area jaw dropping and close ,70 to 90 min to beaches really only 35 miles but roads slow. Food great, water all good. Will do again . Perfect for 4 to 6 people.

Very good communication from owners and Property Manager, Leticia. House was comfortable and enjoyable during our stay - we loved opening the doors and enjoying the fresh breeze. Beautiful Bali home!

Absolutely beautiful home that we enjoyed very much. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax..this is it! The roads are quite curvey to get to the beaches if you do not take the toll road. Long car rides to Jaco and San Manuel Antonio National Park. Not too far from SJO airport.

Pure Paradise

We were looking for a week of pure relaxation and that’s exactly what we got! The house is beautiful. We took a couple of day trips (Playa Blanca and the cloud forest), but the highlight of our trip was lounging in the hammock, dipping in the pool and watching the cows walk by at twilight. Great spot if you are looking for a restful escape, or a more local experience. The owners also offer a variety of day trips if you are looking for more adventure!

The house is spectacular in a true Bali lifestyle. Beautiful views with a wonderful nature sanctuary. Judd was excellent in helping us find hiking trails and other excursions we asked about. Leticia, their property manager was always on call and readily available. The in-home massage by Liz was fantastic. Five star luxury that felt like a home away from home.

Extraordinary!

From the first moment we were thrilled with our stay here. Leticia helped us get settled and stayed in touch. There is really no word to describe the beauty, comfort and decor of Villa Passiflora. Great birding, fresh fruit, flowers and views; access to many places of interest. Best lodging experience of a lifetime.

Wonderful Family Trip!

Location was a perfect homebase to all the excursions we went to from beach to volcano. Property had all the amenities we needed, space together and separate space for privacy. We took advantage of the amenities offered, chef Aaron and getting a massage from Liz. Leticia the property manager was available and gave of plenty of great information from directions to activities happening in Atenas, and provided us with a wonderful travel agent helping us choose excursions. We were a little disappointed about there not being a hot tub but loved having a pool available after a day of hiking! We loved hanging out on the balcony enjoying the view and animals, except a neighbor's rooster. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful house in a beautiful location!

Stunning Costa Rican retreat

For our second week in Costa Rica, we chose this home in Atenas. The photos do not do it justice- it is such a wonderful and relaxing retreat. The private pool and outdoor shower allowed a connection no nature. Hammock and hanging chairs, lush landscaping, toucans…. Just too much to mention. We will return to this special place. Lizz did massages on the breezeway our last day to the sound of rain and the birds. Communication was excellent.

The break i needed

The home is exactly as represented. Atenas is a cute low key town close to alot of the different activities. However if all you want to do is relax you 100% can do that too. Wifi is strong i was able to get a little bit of work done. I cannot thank judd, liz, and Leticia enough for opening this space for me! I hope to be welcomed back in a few months

Vacation in Costa Rica

We had an AMAZING time in Costa Rica and Liz and Jud’s home was a highlight. It was exactly as listed. We enjoyed all the spaces and the openness of the home. The landscaping and pool were well kept and we enjoyed both. Leticia, the property manager was very helpful, and was a good resource and did a great job communicating. We enjoyed a home cooked meal prepared by a chef that Leticia recommended and also enjoyed massages at the house. The house is located in a gated community and we felt very safe there. We would recommend the property to anyone.

A wonderful place to stay and a doorway to Costa Rica

This lovely home, and surrounding gardens and patios, created a spa-like vacation for us. When we are not out and about in the beautiful surrounding area around Ateneas, we enjoyed the swimming, exercising (with the yoga mats available in each bedroom), relaxing, and eating in the multiple beautiful spaces inside and out. We were mostly outside. There were wonderful places to be all together, and lots of nooks to be alone to nap, read, and relax. The home owners and the property manager all welcomed us warmly and shared great information about possibilities and resources. Thank you.
