Beautiful Home

The property, its upkeep and condition are as good as it gets for VRBOs. We’ve stayed at many over the years and this was definitely the most stylish. Most of the places we wanted to visit we’re farther away than we expected, at least an hour drive, but otherwise everything was great.

Stunning property and views

Perfect villa with all the amenities and a view. Atenas is close to all the major destinations and the town offers all that you would need. This was home for a week and we throughly enjoyed our stay.

Great home to enjoy Costa Rica.

Peaceful stay

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property! It’s every bit as beautiful and tranquil as the pictures and the perfect place to relax and recharge. Pure Paradise

We were looking for a week of pure relaxation and that’s exactly what we got! The house is beautiful. We took a couple of day trips (Playa Blanca and the cloud forest), but the highlight of our trip was lounging in the hammock, dipping in the pool and watching the cows walk by at twilight. Great spot if you are looking for a restful escape, or a more local experience. The owners also offer a variety of day trips if you are looking for more adventure!

Costa Rican Paradise

This property is amazing. It’s close enough to town to enjoy the great little restaurants, but far enough out to enjoy the mountains and wildlife. The owners and Leticia the property manager were so helpful. They recommended day trips, restaurants, and a masseuse and chef for our stay. Everything was perfect. We hope to return again some day!!

Vacation in Costa Rica

We had an AMAZING time in Costa Rica and Liz and Jud’s home was a highlight. It was exactly as listed. We enjoyed all the spaces and the openness of the home. The landscaping and pool were well kept and we enjoyed both. Leticia, the property manager was very helpful, and was a good resource and did a great job communicating. We enjoyed a home cooked meal prepared by a chef that Leticia recommended and also enjoyed massages at the house. The house is located in a gated community and we felt very safe there. We would recommend the property to anyone.

As advertised.... perfect.

Owners Liz and Judd were a pleasure to work with, both in advance and while we were at the their home! Manager Leticia is a gem...she even shopped for us in advamce so we did not have to worry about Groceries the first couple days. She also Connected us to Coati Tours, who actually heard what are requests were and provided the experiences we asked for. They also shuttled us to/from the airport and saved us from needing to rent a car, which is a hassle here. The house itself was beautiful and comfortable. It was about a 40 minute walk (mostly downhill) to Atenas, and a $3 cab ride back up. The kitchen is well set up for cooking too. We hope to return...

Stunning House, Attentive Owner/Management

We had a fabulous stay. What makes this house special is that it has a wide range of seating areas so that we could gather when we wished, and do our own thing in our own space when we wanted to, as well. I found yoga mats at the house, and I did yoga overlooking the mountains every day as the sun set. We ran into a few small issues that we needed help with, and Judd as well as Leticia (the property manager) were right on top of things. The house has 3 beautiful rooms - we felt that the newest room (with an outdoor shower and it's own small seating area overlooking the mountains) was the best among the 3, but the others were great as well. Thanks Judd and Liz! We hope to come visit again in the future!

Tranquil getaway

This was the perfect place to destress and get away. As we entered the country, Atenas was quickly described as National Geographic’s acclaimed best weather in the world and they were right. This house is an open Bali style without air conditioning. Don’t let that scare you. The breeze and view of the mountainside are beautiful. You are one with nature with some added luxuries. There is a fully equipped kitchen (even with spices) and each room transitions the outside in with beautiful landscape. You sleep with the peaceful sounds of nature around you. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend and will likely come again.

We Love Atenas

Our group had such a fun, relaxing and adventurous week. Eduardo picked us up from the airport and went above in beyond. He even grocery shopped with us and helped pick out the freshest fruit. Alvaro was so helpful and such a kind person. He was so helpful and gave great recommendations. We were sad to say goodbye at the end of the week. Leticia was also extremely helpful. She even arranged our Covid tests for the way home and made it very easy. I can not say enough good things about the town and people of Atenas. White water rafting on the Pacuare River was so beautiful and fun. The scenery is unreal. The house was relaxing, the beds were comfortable and the weather couldn’t be more perfect. We can’t wait to go back!

Wow!!!

The planning for our family trip began a year ago when I found this stunning property. Liz and Judd were extremely helpful with the planning of our first trip to Costa Rica. They have a beautiful blog that gives you excellent tips, a wonderful property manager Leticia that helps with on site needs and suggestions for other options to add to your vacation like a chef prepared meal and on-site massages-which we did both. Chef Aaron was so accommodating of our dietary needs and Heidi was the sweetest masseuse. Eduardo was our driver for most of the trip and he was perfecto! We also used Coati tours to see Poas and La Paz waterfalls. They did an amazing job coordinating our tour and even helped with a last minute change. The property was beautiful and had everything we needed for an excellent stay. Waking up to the beautiful views and wildlife was everything we wanted and needed from our vacation. Thank you again for everything! Pura Vida!

Outstanding Experience

The home, landscaping, and surroundings areas are very well maintained and beautiful! Early morning views from the deck are incredible! Our teenage children had a great time swimming in the pool. Cooking in the kitchen was great with tons of space and utensils. Check in and stay extension was super easy with Leticia. Leticia and the owners, Lizz and Judd, were very responsive before and during our stay, answering any question we had and providing recommendations when requested. Before our stay we informed Leticia that we were moving to the country and the reason for our stay was to shop for a used vehicle. Leticia graciously referred us to Aaron, our new English-speaking Costa Rican friend, who flawlessly assisted us with our vehicle purchase AND assisted us with opening a bank account. We can't thank you enough Leticia and we can't recommend this home enough! We hope to stay there again in the future!

Pura Vida Paradise

It's all true-the pics are spot on (although we have some amazing night shots). This is a gorgeous slice of paradise. My advice-put down your device and walk around the property. Look up to the mountains before you. The lush green foliage, the grazing cows, birds. Look in front of you-humming birds and butterflies. Below you-a small farm with a rooster-who we grew to love and anticipate. My hubby says things begin at the top. The owners of this gorgeous property have a website that we leaned on planned from. Their property manager, Leticia is a gem! She welcomed us upon arrival. With pride she showed us around. With skill she shared reliable taxi drivers, tour operators, a chef and massage therapist and we took everything in! In 12 days we experienced the Farmers' Market, Paos Volcano,Playa Esterillos, El Toledo Coffee plantation tour, Arenal Volcano, zip lining, Tabacon hot springs, Mystic hanging bridges, the coolest hotel-Lost Iguana,in house massage,in house chef Aaron. We tried local sodas and even watched American football at La Trilla in Atenas. We enjoyed a San Jose walking/food tour. Originally from the East Coast, I don't easily cry. Saying good bye to Eduardo, our driver for most of the trip was emotional with promises (already kept) of keep in touch. Costa Rica is gorgeous. I hope to take away the Pura Vida mindset and focus on the beauty before me. This property and her owners will bless you with that!

Pica Flora

We just returned from our wonderful vacation at Pica Flora, it was so hard to leave!! We spent our days enjoying the views and taking walks into town. We really enjoyed trying the Atenas restaurants and sodas, it allowed us to meet a lot of the locals and try all kinds of delicious food. We don't speak spanish so most of the time we just picked blindly and tried new things, it was so much fun and we loved all of it. We shopped at the grocery store and the central market and cooked at home a few of the evenings. Haydee came and prepared a magnificent dinner for us one night, so good, she was so sweet. We also ordered pizza, which was entertaining to order in spanish but we pulled it off, really delicious... from Ekali's, we're from Chicago and must say the Mixta impressed. Most late afternoons and evening we just enjoyed the house, such nice breezes, beautiful sunsets and amazing star gazing. We used the jacuzzi, so relaxing and romantic. We went to Poaz Volcano and Le Paz waterfalls, beautiful places!! The wine in Costa Rica was pretty good, we went to the Liquor store in Atenas and had some Argentinian and Chilean wines, some were ok and some were really good but nothing terrible. We payed 10-15$ US per bottle, don't buy from the grocery store unless you want Reunite :) The question is not if, but when we return to Pica Flora. Dennis and Gerardo were so accommodating and friendly, always available for questions and to help us with our excursions. When we go back we will speak some spanish, we can't wait!!
